My Stay at Eastgate Rambler

This house is so very quaint, quiet, and an excellent place for a simple stay.I had an immediate concern and the owners of the home came over right away and took care of the situation. There was great communication before and during our stay.My only minor suggestion would be to update the lamps in the bedroom. Now days, it is greatly appreciated when the lamps on the night stands have ports to plug in charge cords. Pretty sure this would be an inexpensive upgrade.Overall, we very much enjoyed our stay and the communication throughout. The house was clean, nice, and in a quiet neighborhood. I would stay here again. :)

Dirty Landlord Special

We never received a code for the front door, it was blank in all of the emails and we thought maybe for security purposes they would sent it the day of. We still didn’t have it when we arrived, so we decided to download the “recommended” app to find someone to contact. You NEED the app to get access. We found the front door code and that you could unlock the door from the app, would have been nice to know ahead of time. The property is pretty worn down and dirty. Looks like it got the landlord special. The walls were dirty in every room, there’s mold and really dirty grout in one of the bathrooms, everything is poorly painted over, and the furniture is very cheap and chewed up. The beds were just ok, the pillows were super flat and the detergent they used to wash everything was so strongly scented that it aggravated my asthma. For the price we didn’t expect a 5 star hotel but I wish all of the property management companies buying up or running these VRBOs would at least attempt to earn their profits.

Had plumbing issues

At check in time received a call and was told the toilet in the second bathroom was clogged and a plumber was contacted. As it was 4 pm on a Friday, I understood it might take some time for someone to come. When the plumber came he needed permission to do the work to unclog the system and claimed he was unable to get in contact with the owner. He waited 30 minutes with no response. He left and ended up coming back later in the afternoon the next day, also saying he would have come earlier if the owner had given permission. The whole situation could have been resolved with better communication and we were left with one bathroom for four adults. Also, no effort to make a partial refund or make the constant communication and dealing with the plumber for two plus hours better for our group. The plumber also stated there were major plumbing issues in the crawl space with pipes and leaks. At some point, someone’s stay is going to be severely impacted.
