“Villa Somone was a wonderful home base for our trip! Papa, our host, was extremely accommodating and went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed throughout our stay. His hospitality really made the experience special. The villa was about 45 minutes from the airport and 1.5 hours from downtown Dakar. We opted for a private cook through Papa at an additional cost, and it was absolutely worth it — the meals were fantastic, and having that option made our stay even more...

“I had to clean the room myself, and bedding were offered to be changed only once in the week. Water in the bathroom strangely stopped and led to usage of a bucket instead. Insects were found in the bathroom and the manager explained it was because he has put a pesticide, so it was normal. All this in top of paying the bill for hydro used in the room (information provided after the room is rented and this is non refundable. The area is so unsafe, people stay inside after sunset by fear of being...
