My wife and I booked this cabin for a week-long stay for our 10-year anniversary. We were excited to find a place that seemed modern and without the cliche plaid curtains, black bear decor, and heart-shaped hot tub. However, when we arrived, we discovered that the power had been out for the last two days and had just been turned on within the last few hours. There was a large puddle of water under the freezer door, and the freezer itself was warm. This wouldn't have been a big deal if we had been notified earlier, but I had to report the issue to find out why.
Another thing we loved about this place was that it was pet-friendly. We wanted to bring our dog along for the trip (even though they aren't allowed on pretty much any trail in the park). However, not long after we arrived, we discovered multiple pet stains in the cabin. There were several on the rug in the upstairs bedroom and one on the downstairs bed. It appeared as though the cleaning crew didn't even change the sheets, and the stain was soaked down to the mattress cover. My wife immediately pulled everything and started washing it while I texted AvantStay. I finally got a response from them at 11:30 pm. To their defense, they did refund the first night of our stay.
Other than that, the location was decent. It wasn't too far away from downtown Gatlinburg or Pigeon Forge area. The hot tub was great, the kitchen was well-equipped, and the fireplace was nice.
