Long driveway has too many potholes. Parking area is sloped and difficult to walk. Lock on door I could not open. Outside security lights are blinding. Inside light above dinning room table is at eyeball level which was irritating. Downstairs bedroom nightstand lights need lampshades. Property around the house pretty much sucks because it’s too sloped to have a leisurely walk. Tall weeds surround the house.

Quiet Getaway in the Woods

We had a wonderful stay at this cabin! It was exactly as advertised - very clean, beautifully maintained, and incredibly peaceful. The seclusion gave us the perfect opportunity to unplug and unwind, while not being too far from nearby attractions. Communication with the owners was fantastic! Highly recommend if you’re looking for a relaxing and private retreat.

The house & location were incredible!

We loved the house!It was just as pictured & the property was so secluded The landscape does need some attention.Rot has taken several boards on the outdoor picnic area and walk way. Making it unusable.And the trees/bushes are invading really close to what was once the walk paths around the cabin.We did have some issues with unclean linens and we washed several loads of sheets upon arrival before being to able to go to bed. And the living room couch throw was covered in candy… so it we washed it also. We had only 5 towels & maybe 4 wash clothes for our 6 guests so that was a little disappointing. The house was extremely dusty & definitely wasn’t up to our expectations on cleanliness.Had some plumbing bubbles & hesitate flushing in the upstairs potty from the first flush & and it was happening downstairs before we left. The down stairs shower door doesn’t like to stay closed. So the bathroom rug was drenched upon arrival.Many many lightbulbs are missing or blown so the house was extremely dim at night, especially in the downstairs bathroom & dining room.We stayed 5 days and the trash was never picked up.So we had to leave the overflow in a big bag in the kitchen.Over all, we would definitely love to stay here again in the future. We had a wonderful week with my family & my parents.

Wears Valley stay for Scottish Festival in Townsend, TN

Very nice cabin and property. Wish that the owners or management group would inspect after cleaners/maintenance. As a property manager myself, I was very disappointed with the cleanliness of the outdoor furniture and porches. Even spraying with a water hose would have removed some of the dirt and tracks left on the furniture and porches by previous guests. Several light bulbs were burnt out in the cabin and the table lamp next to the upstairs bed was a fire hazard and a shock hazard due to the light switch being broken off and metal and wiring being exposed. Had to unplug from the wall to get the light to go off, as it was on and burning when we arrived at the cabin.

Wonderful Cabin

Great clean cabin. Things that others may want to know would be there is not a regular coffee pot, just a Keurig. Which was fine because we went to the grocery store to get the pods. Also, the beds are sank in on one side. They need to be flipped/turned or replaced. There is only one shower and it's in the bathroom on the 1st floor.Overall, it's a great cabin and we will go back.

as just one person, i'm so glad i splurged on this cabin. great location to get into the Smokies. definitely needed a truck that could handle the roads to the location. owners gave quick and helpful responses to email and their renters booklet was very helpful.

Best Hosts of All Time

We were only able to stay in the cabin for two nights due to snow, but Stacia and Larry's kindness ensured that we will be back.Just a heads up, the door jam can swell and catch the electronic lock. Pull the door toward you to unlock it from the outside. Otherwise you might go into panic mode because the lock won't turn all the way!The cabin is immaculately clean and exactly as described. We wanted high on the mountain and secluded, and that's exactly what we got. It's hard to find a place that isn't shouldered next to another in the Smokies unless you're willing to pay a LOT, so this really is a diamond in the rough. The view is stunning, the gaming loft is cute and fun, and the hot tub is a dream at the end of a long, cold day. The real gem of Gypsy Road is the hosts, though. We were snowed OUT of the cabin for our third night due to an unexpected storm. Lots of folks were stranded on the mountain, and when we texted Stacia for help, she bent over backwards to provide it. They didn't have another property available that night (she checked), so they PAID FOR A HOTEL for us! That's not hospitality, that's straight up kindness. They also didn't charge us for the extra night our luggage was trapped in the cabin. Come to Gypsy Road when it's warm and dry and you'll have a quiet, romantic getaway. Come when it's cold and you may have an unexpected adventure and a chance to experience some unprecedented kindness from two really great people.
