“The staff were some of the best we have ever met and met our needs perfectly. They ensured we had a room that was suitable and went the extra mile to achieve this so a big thank you. The property is in the process of being updated but this didn't affect our stay except perhaps to see how well it appears to be going and I'm sure when this is finished they will have a hotel to be proud of. They have only owned this hotel for about 6 months and it is obvious they are making huge efforts to update...

“Room was nothing like posted in pictures on web site was absolutely disgusting Whole place smelt of people smoking canabis even though there was no smoking policy . Car park was full of dog faecea. Glad my car was still there as parking was horrendous. Wouldnt recommend at all. Bedding was all stained covered in dog faeces”

Of course there are newer and plusher hotels but this place takes some beating for its idyllic location, courteous and professional service, cleanliness, comfort and good value restaurant. “Arrived at the hotel, which to their credit allowed us to check in early as we had to get to a wedding before their usual check-in time. Unfortunately the room was absolutely freezing - we thought the heating might be off, but it was actually on. As we were in a rush we turned the heater up and left for the day. We got back late at night to find the room still extremely cold. As the reception building was closed, and we’d previously been told that the hotel was fully booked, we handed the key in...
