  • Stone's Throw is a cozy new cabin on a private road, just minutes to Seawall Beach, Ship Harbor, Wonderland, and Bass Harbor lighthouse. The cabin is three miles to the town center, where you can enjoy shopping and dining, and an easy twenty five minutes to Bar Harbor. The Island Explorer also picks up at the Seawall Motel, 1/2 mile from the cabin, if you would rather use the bus system to travel the island.
    There is a covered porch on the front of the cabin, perfect for enjoying your morning coffee and the neighborhood deer, and a large deck off the kitchen that gets sun most of the day.
    The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need, whether grilling on the deck, or packing lunch for the beach.
    The bathroom has a large walk in shower with a rain shower head and endless hot water. Perfect after a full day of hiking.
    The bedroom has a king bed and blackout curtains, so you will get a great night's sleep before starting out on a new day's adventure.
    Everything you need for a perfect island vacation is right here at Stone's Throw.

Stone’s Throw was quiet, comfortable and just the right space for our island home base! The thoughtful touches like camp chairs and a cooler bag for excursions were very appreciated. It is obvious that Amy takes pride in the property and we would definitely stay again!

Convenient and quiet location.

The place was beautiful and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The location is perfect for those wanting to be close to Acadia and Bar Harbor, but who also appreciate being able to relax and get away from the crowds.

The cabin was spotless and perfectly appointed. Bed/linens extremely comfortable. Great spot for access to the quiet side of the island and not far from the attractions along the Park Loop Road.

Great cabin

Very cute cabin in a nice quiet location. My husband and I stayed for a long weekend, and it was perfect for just us. Everything was clean and the bed was very comfortable. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would love to return.

Anniversary get away

The cabin was absolutely perfect for our 3 day stay in Mt Desert. It was beautifully appointed and extremely comfortable and clean. Great location to Acadia and Bar Harbor. We loved every minute of our stay.

July 2025 Stay

Property was very clean, quiet and comfortable. We love Southwest Harbor and this property was conveniently located just a couple miles from the village and just a stones throw from the Seawall section of Acadia National Park.
