The Carriage House

  • The Carriage House is a charming converted barn located in Southwest Harbor and within walking distance of downtown. Multiple Acadia National Park access points are within 2 miles of the Carriage House. Bar Harbor and the Park Loop Road are 20 minutes away. A perfect hideaway for 2 people looking for a quaint retreat. The Carriage House was recently renovated and air conditioning has been added. The perfect spot for a getaway. 3 night minimum stay unless otherwise indicated on the calendar.

My wife and I spent 5 nights here and this property worked well for us. Clean and great location - short walk into town/restaurants and easy access to Acadia. Only minor issue that might affect some guests is lack a bedroom door. The kitchen is adjacent to the bedroom and noise travels easily. Otherwise a great spot for an Acadia visitor wanting to be close to Southwest Harbor.

Perfect for 2

The property was exactly as described and it was perfect for the two of us. It was exactly what we needed. The kitchen and sitting area was great and we loved playing chess and the other games when we had some down time.

Wonderful

Super cute place, very clean and has everything we needed. It wasn’t as secluded as I had hoped from the pictures, but it was great nonetheless. Definitely a lovely place to stay, especially if visiting Acadia.

Great Place for Couple

Great 4 night stay. Good location far enough from Bar Harbor crowd, but close enough to get to everywhere. Plenty of good spots to eat around the immediate area - Little Crust Bakery, Beal’s Lobster, and Peter Trouts.

Wonderful way to start our Maine vacation

We were delighted with the accommodations. Perfect for a couple! Ingrid's cottage was charming and comfortable. Easy drive to anywhere on the island. We would definitely stay again.

Charming farmhouse with own parking spot. Located near many hikes. Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor aren't too far. The farmhouse location is quiet with less hussle & bustle. Perfect place for two people.

Lovely cottage

This cottage was immaculately clean and very comfortable. We loved the location- away from the chaos of bar harbor but within walking distance of several great restaurants. It was very convenient to everything we wanted to do on our visit. Great, clear communication from the host. We really enjoyed our stay and highly recommend!

Great Location

The location was great for visiting Acadia all 3 days we hiked and we could come back to our rental to rest and there were several great restaurants nearby. Ingrid responded quickly to my question about the grill on the property.

Great Place!

Very nice country style barn like (smell of the old wood) home that is perfect for a couple. Not very far from Acadia and bar harbor. We went in the fall and it was beautiful.

Acadia get away

Wonderful and very well appointed “farmhouse” rental in southwest harbor . The owner was very informative of the area and quick to respond in communication . The king size bed was very comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed . I would happily return and recommend to my friends to stay there .

Awesome Farmjouse

This is a really neat old farmhouse with ceiling beams and an old barn door with all you need. Convenient to Bar Harbor(10-15 min) and a grocery site just down the road. Acadia National Park is all around.

East Coast Trip

Great little place! We were able to get everywhere we wanted with ease with Bar Harbor being the longest drive, 20 minutes scenic route. Communication with the host was quick and easy. Very cozy place. Definitely recommend.
