“Sadly, this was a bad experience. I booked via Expedia where the hotel was advertising a Michelin trained chef and a restaurant. I travelled solo 145 miles for a two night break purely because of this. Upon arrival, I was disappointed to learn the restaurant closed last year. I expressed this disappointment in very civil tones, explaining this was the only reason for my visit. “Lovely hotel - similar in style to a travel lodge /holiday inn. Really quiet. A/C that works! Very comfy beds and good shower. We had an evening meal there and the food was spot on - I had the salad and it was delicious, really well-made. Hats off to the chef, Dani - thank you, you have real skill! Overall the staff are lovely, very helpful, friendly and welcoming. Sea is only 5min walk away. Will definitely return - thankyou!”

“Arrived to be given a key and parking disc , friendly but nobody overnight at a reception, big room but found it very noisy with the seagulls and road noise as single glazed windows , tap wobbly and no waste cover in shower , should have unplugged the fridge as noisy at night on and off , no plug point near the dressing table so couldn’t see when drying hair , did smell like a greasy spoon !!!”

“The room was very clean and came with a nice moon-shaped batch tub with shower in the bathroom. The staff were very friendly and gave me directions to the hotel, since it was hard to find, even using Satnav. I was able to get a free car parking space because they are limited, so that was a bonus. The room came with free continental breakfast, which was also a nice touch. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay on the sea harbour and highly recommend it to future travellers.”

“I think the hotel is either new or newly run as they seem to be finding their feet. Check-in was 3pm to 4pm and when I called to say I might be around 6:30, I was told "it's only hour and a half from Manchester" and "there might not be anyone here after 5pm". It felt a bit abrupt in all honesty but when I arrived around 5:30 (Friday school holiday traffic), they were pleasant enough. Breakfast starts at 10:30 to 11:30 which is very late and checkout is 10am. Weird timings, hence my theory they...
