“The stay provided a really welcome break. The hosts met us to check in and were really warm and welcoming. We were shown around the property and assured to contact them if we needed anything. We didn't as the accommodation had everything that we needed. I was slightly concerned that the room may have been cold given the time of year, but it was really warm and cosy and well furnished. The shower was also powerful and hot. I would definitely recommend for a short break. ”

“I was really looking forward to my stay at The Candlesticks. However as soon as I entered, I began to have my doubts. The bar area, where the owner received us, looked particularly shabby and it smelt musty. It was 3pm (an hour after checking-in should have started) and the room wasn't ready. It wasn't such a big deal, but it was another warning sign. I was in a single room, which made a certain saying about a cat spring to mind. “Lovely hotel, attentive and friendly staff. Room was clean and very comfortable. We had the family suite which was amazing. Lacked coathangers but other than that it was fantastic. Breakfast was gorgeous and we ate in the restaurant both nights and the food was excellent. Will definitely stay here again and recommend to others.”

“Our stay was great. The only disappointment was the shower. It wasn't very powerful and the temperature was unreliable. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff were very friendly. The continental breakfast was very good so it wasn't necessary to order additional cooked items. ”
