“Kitchen was old, not well equipped, lighting poor, ants everywhere especially at night. There were no shops near by, you needed a car to get to them. The gordwalk was treacherous , old and dangerous for walking, wooden boards cracked, missing and installed far aoard. Beds were nice and clean but floors were old and looking not very clean. stoned wall in the bathrooms was rough, dirty and full of insects. Shower heads were poor. ”

“Ben was an amazing host. Playa Avellanas is very rural, and Ben guided us in right to his gate, no problem. Ben is super attentive, and was checking in with us frequently. He saved us a lot of money with his spot on recommendations regarding excursions and restaurants. The boardwalk to the beach, and the beach are amazing. Restaurants in the area - off the charts!”

“It is true this is off the beaten track and very quiet except the dogs barking at 3am. Unfortunately when we arrived the bed was crawling with ants. there were 2 holes in the wall that the ants were crawling out of. The property manager's solution was to use a can of raid and duck tape the holes. We had booked for 5 nights but left after 1 night. We found much more comfortable accommodations in Tamarindo. Would recommend to friends and will come back. ps- there are more amenities than one can infer from listing: the kitchenette is in the unit and there's a big fridge in the unit with ice trays.
