Our experience with this host took a frustrating turn due to a false damage claim. Shortly after informing the host that we found dead insects and hair on the bathroom wall next to the bath towels, we were shocked to receive a message accusing us of staining pillows with blood—pillows we never even touched! Just a few hours later, the host filed an insurance claim against us, falsely stating that we had damaged the pillows.Considering the lack of attention to detail by the cleaning staff, it’s entirely possible that the pillow stains had simply been overlooked. Rather than addressing this cleanliness issue, the host instead chose to retaliate with a baseless accusation.Additionally, the sofa in the rental was worn and in poor condition upon our arrival. He informed us that the worn sofa was the location of the pillows. This felt like a clear attempt to pass off preexisting wear and tear as guest damage in order to collect money.We take great care of every property we stay in and have never been the subject of any complaint. When we asked for proof or further explanation, we received nothing but vague claims.Travelers, beware—this host appears to use false claims as a way to extract money from guests. If you choose to stay here, document everything thoroughly upon arrival and departure. Vrbo should take action against such unethical behavior.
