“Amazing place and outstanding service. The place is beautiful: elegant colonial building and the beautifully furnished rooms. We spent 4 nights at the spacious regatta suite. Breakfast was excellent and Denise was very kind - it was nice to dine together with the other guests and chat. The only downsides are that the place is located on a busy road across from a gas station. Yet, once you are inside you cannot hear that.”

“Friendly hosts, lovely house. Very happy to make this place my home for two nights. I would have liked a spot that wasn't the shared bathroom sink to rinse and wash out my coffee press and travel mug, and fill the room kettle. But so saying it was very reasonably priced and the continental breakfast was terrific.”

“Beautifully presented property in a convenient location to Bruny and Hobart. We will definitely be back. My only negative was that I couldn’t find the laundry advertised, after a few days on the road access to a washing machine would have been awesome. Apart from that it’s a great property in a beautiful location. ”

“Rathmore was everything we had hoped for a tranquil weekend escape. We stayed in the Shearer’s Quarters, separate from the main homestead and very private, with delicious meals delivered by Cally - the lamb ragu was a favourite, highly recommended. Both hosts, Richard and Cally, encouraged us to wander the historic property, which felt a little like stepping back in time to a more peaceful era. We even saw one of the dam’s resident platypus!
