Beach Rejuvenation
Our stay was absolutely wonderful! Tons of beauty, relaxation, and enough adventure to leave us wanting more! Definitely one of the most gorgeous beaches right out our door. Property is exactly as pictured - very clean and the attentiveness of the host(s) was greatly appreciated!

Absolutely Beautiful
Exactly as shown. Absolute beautiful & right on the ocean. If you are looking for some place very quiet this is it. Easy to walk to a few local restaurants & vendor that sells fresh fruits & veggies. Need a car or take Ubers to get anywhere else so if you are looking for somewhere with a lot going on this probably isn’t the place for you.

Private Beachfront Paradise!!!
We LOVED our stay at Cabina Azul!! We were in awe by how beautiful and private this little gem was. The white sandy beach is literally steps away from your door. Watching the sunset on the beach with a glass of wine was truly amazing! The studio was spotless and had all the amenities we needed, and a brand new BBQ. Digna and Omar were very kind and accommodating, enjoyed our little chats. Thank you! We had a very relaxing stay! Hasta Luego Costa Rica

Beachfront Gem
If you are looking for relaxing time on the beach, with an amazing sunset view in the evening, this property will not disappoint. The surf is sandy and great for swimming! The beach is quite private, there are visitors for swimming and sunset viewing, but it never felt crowded in the least. So nice for morning walks too. There are restaurants that are walkable, and if you have a car, some more great ones just a short drive away. We had a relaxing stay. Digna and Omar, the caretakers, were very kind and accomadating! Thank you!!

The Beach!
The beach is the best part and just steps away from this simple bungalow! Hosts respected privacy but were available if necessary. Amazingly private for a public beach. Loved morning walks and beautiful sunsets. Short walk to town for necessities and good restaurants not far. Would stay there again!

Amazing vacation
The property is just as shown and described. Digna and Omar were so responsive to any questions we had. It was so nice having the beach practically to ourselves. We enjoyed walking to restaurants and driving to nearby ones as well as other beaches. Just what we were looking for!

This property was perfect! The location was amazing and we met Omar and Digna, who take amazing care of the property and also the owners, Gisele and Pedro, who were so warm and welcoming. It truly is a piece of paradise that they all are willing to share. My husband and I can’t wait to come back to this amazing place and spent more time at the beach.

The Best!
You can’t beat it! The lovely, quaint studio right on the beach was perfect! Out of the hustle and bustle of the more touristy areas Playa Penca was just what we were looking for. We had the beach all to ourselves every morning and evening. During the day some locals and a few tourists come hang out but it never feels crowded. You can walk to great restaurants and markets. Digna and Omar our hosts who live behind the unit were a delight! So helpful and so kind. We loved every minute!

Definitely coming back!
Terrific property for a couple. Hosts were great. Couple of things I would do different. Upgrade to the SUV and check to make sure the spare has air. Roads are an adventure, download the area map to your phone, cell service can get sketchy. Also checks flights into Liberia instead of San Jose. So many great restaraunts to choose from right in the area. Brewery in Potrero was excellent. Beach in front of the apartment was beautiful and rarely busy. Enjoy! we did.

Hard place to find at 10pm after flying all day…..but after getting here….sweet private beachfront place. Loved the sunsets, beaches & very friendly people. Digna & Omar were very nice & helpful. The ants & bugs were a nuisance, but we would definitely recommend this private little getaway

Hidden Gem
You cannot beat the location of this little gem. On most days we felt like we had the beautiful beach to ourselves. The cabana out front is a nice touch for a bit of shade from the hot sun. The sunsets were absolutely amazing. Nice restaurants within walking distance (although the road is poorly lit at night so we suggest a head lamp or flashlight). The unit is perfect for a couple wanting to be away from the touristy areas. A few things to note, the unit is not very well stocked so made preparing larger (dinner) meals difficult. When we arrived the unit was swarmed with ants, my husband and I spent a good hour killing ants and contemplated moving spots. We asked Digna for raid when she brought some, she was shocked at the amount of ants we had killed at this point. She said it was 'normal' for the time of year. We kept a towel at the door and sprayed all points of entry and they seemed to calm down over our stay. The only other mention is the air conditioner quit working on our last night and that made for an uncomfortable nights sleep. We forgot our rain coats in the unit so when we returned to get them the next day, Pedro said they already replaced the air conditioner unit. That being said, I would book this unit again in a heart beat. Pura Vida.

Beach house paradise
Location of property is seriously beautiful. Periodic rain but didnt affect the water. The room has a strong and much-appreciated air conditioner, all the beach supplies you need. We loved our stay.

Lovely Beachfront Experience
We had a lovely time staying here. The beach is right out the back door and we mostly had it to ourselves during our stay. It is in walking distance to the grocery store and to many restaurants. They provided great beach chairs and shade tents. The kitchenette suited our needs well for making a few meals. There are a lot of large ants around the place but we figured that is a consequence of being in one of the most biodiverse places on earth!

Location is the best oceanfront location on epic swimmable beach I've stayed at in 20 yrs of travelling throughout Hawaii, CA, etc. If you're bothered by a few bugs or ants due to location on beach near woods, it may not be for you. Digna and Omar are perfect hosts/caretakers who responded promptly with any needs. Perfect week.

Little cabana on an amazing non touristy beach
We loved our stay @ Casa Azul! Simple studio cabana yet had pretty much everything you needed for few nights stay! Super loved the location for a quiet stay @ the beach, literally you could wake up with the sound of the waves! The host and caretakers were very responsive, and the communication was very easy! The only major negative was the odor from the septic system that spoiled some of our morning yoga sessions on the lovely terrace overlooking the beach… maybe a some sort update would be needed!!! Overall, we would definitely come back and stay another time. Thank You Casa Azul!

Location, location, location
This was the most amazing, beautiful beach. Very private, soft white sand, warm water. Omar set up a beach canopy with lounge chairs....perfect!! Great location to visit other towns and beaches. Don't miss Playa Prieta and Sugar Beach within walking distance. Bring your water shoes to walk on the volcanic rock and explore. We liked The Shack restaurant in town.

Great Beach Stay
We thoroughly enjoyed the location, acccomidations and property manager. However, the unit needs an upgrade to the septic system. The toilet did not function well which was unpleasant in such close quarters.

Right on the beach
The location of this property is perfect. You walk out the door across a small road and you are on the beach. You can hear the ocean even with the doors closed at night. It was amazing. Knowing you are at the right location to drive on the beach is a little difficult since there are no signs showing the beach name. Also when we checked in no one was home that spoke any English so we struggled a bit at first but once that barrier was over we had an amazing stay. If you want beach front on a quiet secluded beach this is for you!

Stunning Beachfront Property
My husband and I stayed her for our honeymoon and it was everything we needed and more for our getaway. The property was amazing. It was like having our own private beach. Falling asleep and waking up to the ocean waves was a dream come true. Pedro and Digna were so kind and hospitable. We had a few kinks in our trip come up that they were more than happy to assist us with. If I ever make my way back to Costa Rica I would 100% stay here again. It was so breathtaking and stunning every morning and night

Relaxing Playa Penca
I was fortunate enough to stay at this beachfront studio three years ago when it first came out on VRBO. It was just as nice and peaceful the second time around. Digna and Omar are still the caretakers there and are wonderful people. The beach is never crowded and the sunsets are incredible. I highly recommend.

Stunning
The beach is the selling point at this VRBO. There were very few people during our stay. I would say it is semi private. Absolutely incredible! Water was cool and not too rough. And the sand… all sand no rocks and very few shells. If you’re looking for nightlife, this is not the place. Very quiet and romantic. Perfect for us. The studio is small and comfortable with everything you need to either have appetizers and wine on the deck or you could cook a simple meal as well. There are excellent restaurants within walking distance. Hosts Digna (forever smiling) and Oscar were there whenever anything was needed. Will definitely stay here again!

WOW! It’s like having your own private beach!
The studio I is very clean and and comfortable. The property is immaculate and beautiful. Digna was a wonderful hostess. The beach has a few local residents during the week, but it gets a little busier on the weekend. We usually don’t travel to the same place twice, but we may have to make exception for the Blue House on the beach.

After exploring around this and other beaches, we realized how lucky we were to find this gem. Not a lot of houses right on the beach like this one. Sat out and watched the beautiful sunsets every night. Digna was super helpful. We could not have been happier with our choice.

Delightful spot
We spent four nights at this property right on the beach. Hosts were attentive and helpful. We enjoyed being able to walk out the front door onto the beach and also sit on the patio and watch the sun set in the evenings over the ocean. It was just a short walk into the village where there were two grocery stores, a coffee shop and several restaurants that we enjoyed. If you are driving in from Liberia, you may want to check the route as GPS brought us in through a rather treacherous route which we managed to avoid when leaving. A truly delightful spot.

Beautiful Beach Front location
We really enjoyed our relaxing stay on Penca Beach!!! We were steps from the sandy beach and the waves! The studio beach home was exactly as described and a comfortable retreat from the afternoon heat. Digna and Omar were on hand to help but also respected our privacy. Having bikes available to explore surrounding beaches was appreciated as well. Pedro, the host went above and beyond. He arranged to pick us up from Liberia and introduced us to his friend who drove us to La Fortuna.

Cabina Azul was exactly what you see...absolutely paradise. It was the perfect location to see many beaches and towns if you have a car. We loved eating at the local sodas, shopping at the superminis and drinking at the local outdoor bar was a great experience. I would definately stay again.

Amazing beach front property
Loved our stay here. Omar and Digna messaged us the day prior to ensure our check in and stayed in touch day of check in. The beach house is on the secluded Playa Penca. We got to the end of the road and you have to veer off to the right, onto a small sandy road. There is a sign saying no car access, but ignore that! Digna met us at the gate to let us into the yard where your car is locked away safely. You get keys to access the house and locks on the gates. AC, wifi, kitchen all included. The beach is your backyard. Absolutely amazing! They have a beach tent set up for you and you can bring the lounge chairs out to the sand! They also have bikes (which we used every day!) and water toys! We just asked Digna and they provided a whole selection! (Snorkeling gear, flippers, boogie boards, etc. ) amazing cafés and restaurants near by! Sunsets are unreal here. We will definitely come back!

This location was a perfect ending to our stay in Costa Rica. The hosts were fabulous, property was clean and location was superb. It was a close walk to a few shops in town. We rented a golf cart and explored the beautiful areas nearby as well. Would defiantly go back!

Amazing Beach
What an incredible beachfront room - you can see the ocean right out the door while you lay in bed! Be prepared to drive on the sand to get there, it feels wrong and is bumpy, but that's not uncommon for Costa Rica we found. We were never given an address, which was needed for immigration. We were told to just go to Penca Beach, but there are two within 10 miles, and we were devastated to find we were 90 minutes away after arriving at the wrong one. A frustrating first day, but phenomenal stay once we finally found it.

Pure magic
We stayed in 3 different places when we visited Costa Rica and this was by far our favorite. There are only 5 houses on this beautiful beach so we had plenty of privacy. We loved being able to use the beach and also be so close to the studio. We were easily able to walk to many different places to get food/ grocery stores and there were bikes available if we wanted them. We were able to park our car in the yard behind a locked gate. We went on a long walk one day- when you get to the north end of the beach there is a trail that goes through the woods leading to a road that leads to the next beach over. It was also a very quite and private beach. Everything in the studio was very clean. One tip- when you get there it looks like you need to pay for parking, but that is not true. Go to the end of the parking closest to the beach and turn right at the sign that says not to drive on the beach. Drive until you see Casa Azul and you will pull into the yard off the road. I messaged with the host using What’s App to let them know when we were almost there. They are both lovely people and very helpful. Our only regret is that we did not book this place longer. We hope to come back here again someday.
