“The homestay was a good experience in general but was quite far from Cat Ba Town. We were able to hire bicycles and ride to the national park and go hiking but there wasn't anything else that could be accessed without motorised transport. The rooms were ok, but in need of some maintenance. Bathrooms need updating and wallpaper was peeling off the ceilings. There were spiders and a centipede in the room but it was fine once we removed the critters. Lots of farm sounds with roosters, barking dogs...

“We loved our stay in Cat Ba! Linda was an amazing host and the staff were so helpful. We had the most delicious hot pot there one evening. Linda helped us with all our planning. It had a quaint garden with puppies running around, and monkeys howling in the distance. A/C worked and our daughter swam in the pool at night. Would recommend if looking for a homestay in the area!”

“This 4-day visit was my third to The Light Hotel since 2015. Like my previous stays, the owner / manager, Jennie, and her staff provide 5-star accommodations, amenities and service for very reasonable cost. A small family-run hotel, you are welcomed and treated like family. My room was spacious, clean, comfortable bed and all the amenities of a 5-star hotel. Breakfast is good. Walking distance to shops, restaurants, ATM. I love the hotel and highly recommend it for your visit to Ha Long.”
