There were so many things we enjoyed about our stay, it’s hard not to give all 5-star reviews. However, in fairness to other properties we’ve stayed at that truly were 5-star, it just didn’t seem right. For starters, the layout and setting of the condo were great. We didn’t know whether or not any of our kids might want to come and stay for a night or two, so having the separate bedroom and bath on the opposite side of the great room was perfect (even though nobody was able to join us). We loved sitting on the deck and enjoying Shanty Creek flowing through the trees behind the condo. The pool was conveniently close by to walk to, but the private beach was much more of a jaunt than we’d imagined from the property description; especially since it’s on the other side of M-88. We are walkers, so we [naively] put ourselves at risk walking over there ONCE. To be clear, it’s lovely once you get there, but for anyone with children the need to drive really should be emphasized. This is the first time we’ve stayed at a VRBO property that didn’t have a handbook to refer to for advice and guidance. Had the club pass not fallen out of the bag of tour pamphlets, we would not have known we needed it to access the beach. When it came time to check out, we had to go back to the property listing to find out what was required. When a couple of issues arose, Matt was very quick to respond; however we had to mutually agree to leave things as they were so as to not interfere with plans we already had in place. The kitchen was nicely appointed with everything we needed to eat most meals in, which was great; however, the appliances are quite dated, which was a huge contrast to the lovely new carpeting and nice furnishings. Again, overall we enjoyed our stay, I’d have given an overall 4.5 if that had been possible.
