Would like to stay again. Bedding and Bedrooms were exactly as advertised. Driveway is an issue in the winter without AWD or Four wheel drive. Otherwise very smooth

We had a lovely time together at this property. Check-in was easy and seamless. The kitchen was very nicely updated with plenty of room for all of us. We enjoyed the outdoor deck for dinners and hanging out as well as the outdoor firepit. The bedrooms were situated well although it would have been nice to have a king bed from downstairs up in the bedroom next to the bunk room. For the most part, we were pleased with this property and would stay here again.

Winter Renters Beware... it is Northern Michigan

We very much enjoyed our stay at nearby Schuss Mountain and had a wonderful time with family and friends. However, there were several things that negatively impacted our stay. First, the listing included a sofa sleeper in the loft. However, we could not find full sheets even after contacting the owner, it is under a very steep popcorn ceiling, and the loft is incredibly drafty. None of our guests chose to use this accommodation. Furthermore on this point, the futon in the office is not adult sized. The listing is slightly misleading if you're a group of 14 men coming - beware.Next, the updated kitchen and bathrooms are beautiful, as the pictures show. However, the rest of the house could use a little TLC. Additionally, I'm not sure that the upgrades were ever inspected as our group found a smoke detector on a piece of furniture 1 foot off the ground. The freezer and laundry tub were dirty, there were 2 broken doorknobs on closet doors and most of the HVAC registers were not installed properly, leaving large gaps between the register and wall/floor.Lastly, the driveway is extremely steep and narrow. We did bring all-wheel drive SUVs as suggested and we all got stuck in the driveway at various times. Even after contacting the owner that we were having issues, she just left it up to her snow removal company with a weak apology for our lost time and inconvenience. One vehicle was stuck badly enough it needed to be towed. It was a stressful nightmare on the driveway.

Great ski weekend for a group!

Overall we had a great stay for our group to enjoy a ski weekend at Schuss Mountain. The location is about an 8-10 minute drive from the resort. There was a LOT of snow this weekend which made the driveway a bit difficult to navigate even with AWD vehicles, but we contacted the owner and she sent the plow back out for us. There is room for 2 cars in the garage and 1 in the driveway but no ability to turn around with all the snow, and no street parking. The kitchen and bathrooms are beautiful and the large pantry off the kitchen was great for storing all of our food and snacks. The scenery is so pretty and I imagine is gorgeous in the summer months. Lots of places to sleep and hang out.

Family Getaway

We had a great time in Bellaire. The property is as depicted with new floors, appliances, bathrooms.Courtney was a great host. We enjoyed games, cooking, movies and cozy fires. Shanty/Schuss has plenty of activity- we went snow tubing and had a great time. I'd definitely rent this again. Thanks Courtney!!

Conference Meetings

Very good location for the resort. House is very nice and spacious. Everything we needed was there. Connie is great to work with and very helpful. Loved watching the deer in the yard. We have the conference up there again next year and will book this same place!

Beautiful Home

Beautiful home. However check in was at 4:00pm. When we arrived at 4:02pm the house was still being cleaned. The cleaner didnt leave until after 5:30pm. We received no communication the place would not be ready. The last guests towels were in tbe dryer, so had to figure out what to do with the stuff when drying beach towels. After being in the car for 8 hours we really wanted to relax :( Besides the place not beinv ready we had a great time!

Nice Getaway Trip

We stayed here for a chill bachelorette party, and it was what we all needed. Overall the place was great and what we expected, and we would definitely book this place again! --We love that there is a lot of parking space, bathrooms, and common areas. The deck is BEAUTIFUL --Lots of kitchen space --Secluded but there are things to do within 10 minutes driving distance Some things to note/suggestions: --Mattresses for the full bed bedroom and bunkbeds are old and probably need replacement. Your least picky sleepers should be in these rooms. --The downstairs bathroom needs a shower seal. Water was leaking onto the floor --There are two Kings beds in the bedroom downstairs and not in separate rooms. --Sliding deck door was difficult to move --Stairs to main entrance are wobbly and not level, and it was difficult to see them at night. --Hot water ran out fast, so maybe a bigger water tank that can accommodate 3 showers.

Christmas in July

This trip was an annual July vacation we gift to our children at Christmas. This was our first time here and we all had a great time. Spent a great day on Lake Bellaire and when it rained we were able to enjoy the indoor pool at the resort. We also spent a few hrs at the resort golf and game simulator room which was enjoyed by all. Home was very clean and enjoyable. Owner was very responsive and helpful!

Beautiful space and tons of room!

We were in town for a wedding and this place was perfect! It's tucked in a woody, hilly neighborhood that made for great walking and provided that "get away from it all" feeling. The home is spacious and spread out, so plenty of people can stay here, yet still have space to spread out and relax. We loved that there was a basketball hoop, a spacious deck to play Corn Hole on, and enjoyed the fire pit too. We've stayed in this area before, and love the location. Would definitely stay here again!

Golf Trip

Stayed with a large group of 12 golfers, and the house was plenty big enough to spread out with that many. Great location for being near the golf courses, ski resorts and downtown Bellaire. There were no kids with us, but looked like plenty for kids to do at the house.

This Home is not summer ready!

We booked this home for a memorial weekend trip with extended family and while it was a decent property overall we ran into several issues soon after checking in. One of the bathroom doors would not latch no matter how much we attempted to push, pull, jiggle, or lift it to get it to work. This was a privacy concern for our group. The grill, which we had planned to use heavily was not on the deck but tucked away into the corner of the garage caked in sawdust and the grates were coated with burnt on food and grease. The deck itself, and all outdoor furniture was covered in forest debris and not set up for use. While the owner was quick to communicate, she made no effort to provide any solutions and basically told us that her cleaning crew was not responsible for any exterior areas and the grill was never cleaned unless guests chose to do it themselves. She repeatedly made it seem like we had unreasonable expectations, or that we were making up issues by insisting she'd never had such complaints. I would assume that if most of her guests are there in the winter for skiing they do not run into these problems. Ultimately, instead of attempting to fix any problems or offering compensation she told us we could leave and get a refund, which is what we elected to do. We ended up with in an exceptional home nearby and enjoyed our weekend. I've been renting on vrbo for over a decade and previous hosts were quick to offer solutions, alternatives, or compensation for lesser problems.

Annual Family Ski trip

This is a great home to stay for a ski trip. It’s close to the slopes, tubing hill and the town of Bellaire. This home has a great kitchen/dinning area, family room on both floors and a great kids play area on the third floor. I highly recommend this house for families! Thank-you Courtney!

Second stay here - love this place for groups

This was our second stay at this house. It’s perfect for two families and we had so much fun skiing and being able to gather and enjoy our friends who live far away by coming together in this home. Close to the hills, shorts and downtown Bellaire. We will continue to come back!

Snowy Getaway

The house was a perfect place for our group, it had everything we needed. Great place to come back to after skiing, we were able to warm by the fire and watch football on a huge TV. The kitchen is well stocked and clean. Courtney was quick to respond to all communications. We will be back!

Home is in a beautiful area, within 30 minutes of everywhere we needed to go/be. Very peaceful and quiet. My whole family enjoyed, plenty of room for everyone.

The perfect spot!

Courtney was so easy to communicate with and very quick to respond to any questions or messages I had sent to her. The home was perfect for our needs. We had a group of 9 and it accommodated us well! Close to everything you could need including indoor pools and downtown Bellaire for dinner and drinks!

Great for multiple families … BUT

PRO’s… big enough for large families to have areas of their own. Kitchen fully stocked with dishes, pots, and pans and utensils. Host was wonderful to work with, and her detailed text prior to arrival left nothing to be questioned. The movie theater size TV in the living room was easy to .access and gave you plenty of movies to watch. Plenty of bathroom linen. Beds were comfortable. Clean enough inside. Beware of the falling acorns on the deck. Lol. CONS … property is definitely dated and could use some TLC. it was extremely evident pictures were taken right before it was listed for rental. It is more of a camp in the woods atmosphere inside and out. The basement bathroom leaves a lot to be desired. There is a TV in the basement bedroom that was not even hooked up, nor had a remote to be found. Sliding door in the upstairs main living room was so hard to open that we never even used it to go out on the deck and went out through the hallway door. It was expensive when it was just my two sisters and I. That was our choice though, and not the fault of the owners. It would be nice to update the coffee system to a Keurig with the individual pods instead of having to make a whole pot of coffee. Trout Road on the way to the property is closed. I would expect this to be an issue for the remainder of the summer, at least. If you have a GPS, it will re-calculate and get you in a different way but when you first arrive, it was an inconvenience with not knowing.
