The house and property were fabulous. We felt safe and comfortable inside.
However, I was not at all prepared for the location. For many, I am sure it might feel like a desert oasis. But that is not what I was looking for. It is 8 miles from both federal and state prisons and, driving in from I-10 it seems as if it is in the middle of nowhere. It is not in the town of Sahuarita, but is on the outskirts of the town. The neighbors' property is very close and has broken-down vehicles and a dog that protects the property. Though the dog looked sweet and possibly friendly, I was not comfortable with it being off-leash and not confined to its property, especially, given that we brought our small dog. The vrbo property is fenced in with a chain link fence and a padlock. I did not feel safe enough to walk my dog around the area. Given its location, I had hoped to be able to walk to my grand-daughters house, but this was not possible for me. I had not anticipated the length or rough condition of the dirt road leading up to it.
I think the description needs to be more specific about the location. After renting it, we learned that the nearest grocery store is 15 miles away.
A much more minor complaint: the kitchen is well-equipped but the knives are in much need of sharpening and we didn't find a knife sharpener.
On the positive side, the backyard is beautiful (though not secure for a small dog or amenable to a long-haired or curly-haired dog - except confined to lawn and patio).
