Unfortunately, the condition upon arrival was unacceptable.
• Bathroom sink would not drain
• Mattress and pad had a large visible urine stain and pillows had stains
• Mold in bathroom, chairs with food and mold under cushions
• Kitchen dishes, utensils and cookware sparse and very worn
• Overall cleanliness below reasonable standards
When we contacted BnB My Place, they refused to speak by phone and required photo documentation before taking any action. Their published “emergency” number disconnects callers with a message stating no one is available. Photos of issues were emailed.
Only after we involved VRBO and indicated we would dispute the charge and contact authorities did BnB My Place maintenance visit the property. The sink was repaired, mold scaped off wall, replacement of the mattress was promised and the chairs were cleaned.
Because February is peak season in Tucson and alternative accommodations were unavailable, we had no practical ability to relocate. In order to make the property usable, we purchased replacement linens, a frying pan, spatula, kitchen towels, peeler and a shower liner, and deep cleaned the kitchen and bathrooms ourselves.
After continued maintenance issues, a second complaint was filed with Expedia CEO. After this escalation, only out of pocket expense reimbursement was offered.
Future guests should understand that, at least in our extensive rental experience, the property was not delivered in a condition consistent with the price
