This place looks just like it's pictures. Large, comfortable rooms and outdoor spaces to gather in. Great deck on top of the lakehouse . Never stayed at a better equipped place...they had all the dishes, utensils, pots, pans, spices, cooking basics, etc. Keurig and drip coffee maker. 2 refrigerators. Playroom for kids in garage house. The host was responsive to our questions. Location was great for getting to Lake Placid, Tupper Lake, Saranac Lake and numerous hiking trails from easy to challenging. A great place to dtay

Roomy house. Lots of sleeping options and plenty of room to spread out, play games, eat. Well stocked kitchen and large grill for cooking. Beautiful deck on top of boathouse. Plenty of towels and washer/dryer to refresh them. Upper Saranac Lake is gorgeous, fresh, clean water. Not a lot of boat traffic, quiet, esp on this part of the lake. Perfect depth at dock for easily docking boat, swimming (not wade in, if you have little ones—we didn’t). Be aware that the descent from house first floor to boathouse is a fairly steep 80 steps, mostly rock steps. Can be a bit much for lots of back and forth from house to lake . We had one handicapped person with us and needed to pick her up at Marina to enjoy the lake. Renting pontoon boat from upper Saranac Marina for the week allowed for seeing the entire lake.

The home was perfect for our family gathering. Loved the location on the lake and the view from the boat house was great. The kitchen had everything we needed and it, along with the dining room area and screened porch formed a perfect gathering place. The availability of the boat house in which I could keep my boat and the availability of all of the amenities to enjoy the lake was perfect. Finally, any questions we had during our stay were quickly answered and the caretaker's support was awesome.

Perfect location, beautiful home!

We had such an amazing time at this property. I went with my family and we slept 12 people comfortably. There is something to do for everyone and about a 30 minute drive to Lake Placid. Host was communicative and friendly. Highly recommend!

A dream come true

We have been taking family vacations in the Adirondacks for several years now and Camp Saranac is the absolute cream of the crop. The house is magnificent, yet Sheri makes you feel so completely comfortable, that it’s a home, not just a house. The boat house is the center of lake activity and it’s incredible to have all those amenities plus a roof deck to relax on and watch the kiddies fish. There is every amenity you could imagine, from family games to an array of spices. We can’t wait to do it again!

Nice place

The place is very nice and the owners are very generous with their stuff. Very clean and the lake is large and beautiful. Boat house and deck were used a lot! Only issue was elderly people have problems getting to boat house. Stairs are steep.

Perfect for our family

This house is exactly as pictured. It's huge, with plenty of space for everyone to relax. The boathouse rooftop deck is wonderful, with fabulous views and plenty of seating. We enjoyed the boats, paddleboard, and floaties. We used the kitchen a lot and it had everything you could possibly want for cooking. Both Sheri, the owner, and Rich, the caretaker, were extremely responsie and pleasant. Would recommend.

Amazing!

Once a year my husband and I invite our adult children and their families to vacation with us. This year we chose the Adirondacks because none of us had ever spent much time there. I am so thankful I found Camp Saranac and that it was available for our group of 14. Six children ages 12,10, 7,7,7, and 4 had a fabulous time in and on the water, playing in the field behind the garage, and playing Foosball in the garage. I can't imagine a better place for an extended family gathering. There was construction going on next door, but they weren't working in the evening when we were enjoying the quiet of the lake, so it wasn't a negative impact. The house is stunning with lots of places for adults to gather (the screened porch was especially popular). Plenty of life vests for all sizes, paddleboards, kayaks, canoe, and small boat were all put to good use. I don't know about the rest of Upper Saranac Lake, but this end had minimal boat traffic. Only one occasional jet ski and motor boat, which was perfect for our beginner paddle boarders. Grocery runs were about 15 minutes away, but the drive is easy and scenic. Sheri was a great host. Very responsive with a "come enjoy our home" welcome, We were all sorry to see this vacation come to an end! Highly recommend.

A+ Winter Getaway

Fantastic stay for a large group. We visited in February for a ski trip—close proximity to Whiteface Resort for skiing and nearby towns for groceries/restaurants. Fully stocked sleeping quarters, kitchen, and entertainment options. Sheri was communicative and reachable 24/7 (including a housekeeper who swung by onsite), sent us very detailed check-in and check-out instructions, and promptly addressed any questions or issues our group raised. We believe any one-off issues we had would not affect future guests. We would happily stay at her property again.

Relaxation and comfort

This was our 2nd stay at Camp Saranac and it was thoroughly enjoyable. We decided in advance to cook in for the entire week and the kitchen had everything we needed. Plenty of room to spread out and plenty of activities to keep everyone occupied as much as they would like to. Can't wait for our next adventure.

Beautiful house and location

This house was amazing. Beautiful views from the water front, rooftop boathouse dock! The house has everything you need and the owners share whatever is in the house! The kayaks, paddle boards,and boat with motor were all great additions. We really enjoyed spending time on the water. The smallmouth bass fishing was excellent. It’s a beautiful area and easy drive to hikes, lake placid (great Main Street) and Whiteface mountain! One of the nicest places my family has rented and great communication with the owners! Highest recommendation!

Beautiful Camp Saranac

We enjoyed our stay so much at this beautiful house and property. The house had all the amenities one could want. We enjoyed the fabulous kitchen, porches, game room and boathouse with a wonderful view and all the boats one could want. The area is great for hiking as well a the close towns of Lake Placid, Saranac Lake, Tupper lake.

Great Week at Camp Saranac

Amazing property! Enjoyed sitting on the porches and the dock. Kitchen very well equipped. Also so many games and toys! Enjoyed using the boats and rafts. Loved hearing the loons! Excellent communication with the owner. Caretaker was very responsive. Hated to leave!!!

Camp Saranac deserves 5 stars plus

Wow, wow, wow. Believe all of the 5 star reviews for this lovely vacation retreat. The location is great- right on Upper Saranac Lake just a short drive to Tupper Lake, Saranac Lake, or Lake Placid. We come to the Adirondacks for the beauty and the outdoor activities. There is an abundance of both at Camp Saranac. Our family of 10 took advantage of the kayaks, canoe, paddle board and fishing boat to explore the lake. We also took advantage of the recommendations for nearby day hikes suitable for a wide range of ages. The evening ping pong tournaments capped off the day. The home itself is beautiful and spacious with several comfortable seating areas depending on the weather or just your mood. We preferred cocktail hour on the deck and after dinner on the screened in porch with a fire on cool evenings. The beds are extremely comfortable. Everyone in our party commented on how well they slept - starting with the very first night. The kitchen is outfitted with everything you could possibly need. The owners have provided so many amenities and are wonderful to work with. Thanks to the Stevens family for sharing their beautiful retreat!

Saranac family vacation

The house was fantastic! With 12 people it was the ideal size to get together but yet if you wanted some personal space it was possible to have that also. The kitchen was a joy to cook in. Well outfitted and plenty of extras. The recreation room was used mostly in the evenings and provided entertainment for all. All of the "toys" in boathouse provided extra excitement for children and adults alike. Boathouse was ideal for our 21 ft.boat. The steps to get up and down to lake and boathouse are many. Once down to lake and atop of boat house the many chairs, umbrella made for a relaxing time. The only thing we found that needed attention was the room over the garage needed some additional cleaning. We did not meet with onsite property manager to discuss our concerns regarding this. It would have been nice to use, but the main house was capable of handling our sleeping arrangements. We would love to go back again.

What a wonderful place to stay and enjoy the Adirondack area

The property, the owner and the care giver are all deserved a 5-star rating! We received detail information before the trip and both the host and the care giver were extremely responsive to our questions and/or requests during our stay. The house is big and well maintained. The kitchen is more than fully equipped. The game room and boat house are all well maintained providing lots of entertaining activities. And we watched the most beautiful sky during the sunrise just about everyday! The house is ideally located. We visited Tupper Lake, Saranac Lake and Lake Placid during our 1 week stay. Plenty trails to go to but not very easy for a group of senior citizens with some minor mobility limitation. This is definitely the house to stay for our future visit of the area. Thank you for sharing this house with us.
