Reviewer Comments: The home was everything as advertised and more. We loved the layout of the kitchen and the enclosed porch leading to the heated pool and hot tub. Plenty of space for our large group. We really enjoyed the home.

Even Better Than Expected

This house was even better than the pictures. It was absolutely gorgeous and so clean. The weather wasn’t great, but we didn’t even mind because the house was so comfortable and spacious. The hosts were extremely kind and responsive as well. We can’t wait to come back!

The house was beautiful and fit our family reunion needs for 12 very well. The kids loved having the pool, slide and hot tub, and the adults appreciated the spaciousness of the house and wonderful grounds. The pool and hotub were clean and warm and Tonya was responsive. The location was also great, quaint Union Pier, Warren Dunes, and New Buffalo are all easily accessible. We hope to be back.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a group of 12 moms looking for a relaxing weekend away, and we found it! Ruffino Retreat was perfect. There was so much room to spread out in the house. The kitchen was stocked with anything you'd ever need. The hot tub and heated pool were perfect. We also loved the outdoor shower and having the bathroom and beverage cooler right there by the pool. The location is great too, you can walk to the wineries or Union Pier Social, Black Currant Bakehouse, etc. We cannot wait to come back!

August Family Vacation by the lake

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had our three adult children, spouses, and three small grandchildren to celebrate a special birthday for our oldest son. The house was perfect! The kitchen was the best equipped kitchen I have ever seen in a vacation rental. We cooked in almost every night and had everything we needed. The screened-in patio was such a great place. A perfect transition from the kitchen to the backyard with comfortable places to sit, a huge table with still more room to walk around. Inside there were plenty of spaces to sit and relax and the bedroom/BR set up was perfect (even an outside BR for the pool users). The location at the end of the street was private and beautifully surrounded by tall trees. A short walk down to the local bakery was a great way to start the day, and a short drive to the lake provided a lovely morning. Beach towels and chairs/umbrellas were provided and if you need more the rental store is just across from the bakery. Finish the day with relaxing afternoon pool time to make it perfect! The property managers were professional and easy to communicate with and responded quickly to anything we asked. There are plenty of restaurants and activities just a short drive away in nearby towns if you want to explore more, especially with older kids. I would definitely recommend this house for a perfect family vacation.

Pool not warm and no use of hot tub

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The description of listing is “luxury retreat w/Heated pool open May 1hot tub...” our entire reason for paying over $4k for 3 days was to have the entire family use the pool and hot tub. The property management company was amazing and super responsive however I can’t rate higher because the pool was still not heated to allow the little ones to enjoy it. We are use to having heated pools at 85 degrees and this pool was just cold. The other issue was the hot tub had heavy chemicals and extreme bubbles. Didn’t look or smell safe and it was making us cough a lot so we couldn’t use the hot tub either. The hot tub also never got over 93 degrees. That’s not a hot tub. The home itself was immaculate. Beautiful furniture and layout. The room sizes were larger than expected and the bathrooms were perfect for our family. The bedrooms were all made well and furnished comfortably. The kitchen had all the pots pans and servicing bowls along with serving spoons and utensils. The oven didn’t work very well and it was not consistent. But the grill outside was brand new and we made good use of it. We also appreciated the ping pong table, and the beautiful bathroom and outside shower next to the pool. We had plenty of towels. The refrigerator is not very big. It’s pretty with a glass door but it’s not practical. Also bring a flashlight, walkway is very dark. The property is very private and plenty of parking even though you can only bring 4 cars. For $4k+ and our needs we rated 2.5 out of 5.
