Spacious Villa on edge of Portuguese Village close to stunning beaches/amenities

This spacious 3 double bedroom villa with a large communal pool and hot tub overlooks a traditional windmill and unspoilt countryside in the location of Budens. The villa is situated within a quiet complex of just 7 link villas, all finished to a very high standard. The villas are equipped with a private communal pool, which is surrounded by landscaped gardens, is also south facing giving guests sun shine all day long.

The villas are a very pleasant mix of owner/occupier, holiday homes utilised by friends and family, and a couple that are rented for the main summer months and then utilised by family and friends for the remainder. The stunning beaches within the locality generally means that the villa facilities (pool/hot tub) are largely under-utilised.

The air conditioned villa has all modern facilities and offers spacious living for families or small groups of friends. There is an internal door and shutters on every window which helps to let little ones have an undisturbed afternoon nap. There is also a small wall around the balcony that prohibits little ones accessing areas they shouldn’t (ie the pool area). There is a cot available and also the sofa in large lounge converts easily into a very large double bed. We also have a couple of ‘put up occasional’ beds should the need arise.

The location is minutes away from some of the very best unspoilt beaches in the Algarve, and also opposite Parque de Floresta/Santo Antonio Golf complex. One of the very few villas in the local area that is situated on the very edge of the traditional Portuguese village of Budens, with very easy access to the village amenities and local restaurants, and not tucked away on a golf complex. There are 3 golf clubs within 15 minutes (Floresta/Espiche and Boa Vista) and over 25 more within 45/50 minutes drive.

There are many traditional Portuguese fishing villages (Salema, Burgau, Sagres, Praia Da Luz) with their stunning unspoilt beaches all within a 5-10 minute drive. Salema is also walkable over the hill and takes about 30 minutes. The local excellent bus service runs via some of the beaches and also into Lagos. A very reliable taxi service is also available within the village.

The all year round Portuguese walled town of Lagos is just 20 minutes by car, c. 30 minutes by bus (5 min walk from villa to the bus stop). Lagos boasts 2 more amazing beaches; Meia Praia, 5km of beautiful white sands, with a few beach restaurants scattered about, and also Praia Patatas, which is also known as the town beach. Again an easily accessible lovely sandy beach, with a cool beach bar open throughout May to September. Canoe expeditions to the caves also set off from this beach.

There is a very large daily fish market with a huge array of weird and wonderful fish for sale, all caught by the local fishermen.

Lagos Marina is accessible either by ferry from the town or over the bridge. Definitely worth a visit. Ample bars and restaurants to idle away the time people watching, sampling the varied menus, supping a cool relaxing beer, or indulging in a slice of home made Victoria Sponge and supping a cafè com Leite (white coffee).
