Private Beach And Mountain Lake Home

  • Beautiful, fully restored antique cape with private beach on Millen Pond in Washington, New Hampshire. This historic town is home to many lakes and is the first town named after George Washington. The private beach is accessible from our private road on 10 wooded acres. Ideal for fishing, hiking, canoeing and country living. Property is located near the original founding church of the Seventh Day Adventists and is near many beautiful lakes and ponds including Pillsbury State Forest and Mt Sunapee State forest. Natural beauty abounds including an abundance of wildlife, deer, bear, moose, and wonderful hiking trails. The house is located on the Monadnock/ Sunapee Greenway Trail and is 18 miles from Lake and Mt Sunapee Ski area, and is close to Pat's Peak and Crotched Mountain and is an hour and a half drive to Killington ski area. Ask us about ski lift discounts as part of your stay.


    This property includes a separate studio in the carriage house. Guests who wish to access and use the studio during their stay should be aware that an additional studio fee of $125 per night applies, along with a one-time cleaning fee of $75 per stay. These charges are in addition to the main reservation total and will be applied when studio access is requested.

Loved the beach access and use of canoes, peddleboat, kayaks and tubes. our grandkids had a blast! Liked that there was a electric teapot, variety of small appliances and misc spices, tea bags, paper products.

This was a very nice place to spend the holiday weekend. Well stocked large kitchen, and a comfortable living room perfect for visiting or just relaxing. Easy walk to the private beach (lake not visible from house), which is well setup for a long beach day. Very dog friendly which was much appreciated!

Great older house, we thought lake view was seen from house. It is a short walk, not easy for people with walking issues. The lake front is great, lots of outdoor chairs, grill, paddle boat, canoes. Beautiful and quiet area. Great for relaxing. We appreciated the rental is pet friendly.

We enjoyed our stay, the 3-minute magical walk through the woods down to the lake was our favorite part. We loved using the paddle boat and kayak to explore all around the lake. The house is situated right on the main road so there is some traffic. We are use to road noise so it didn't bother us too much. The house is located about an hour from New London (Lake Sunapee) the downtown is lovely and worth checking out. We had a wonderful time.

Quaint, cozy house with everything we needed for a mid-winter stay. Kitchen is very well stocked and everything worked. WiFi was a little spotty at times. Thanks for being dog friendly!

Everything was super clean, well stocked. Beautiful house and rooms. Housekeeper is across the street for anything you might need. Alan is a wonderful host. Everyone had a great time, we will definitely be back.

Just returned from a wonderful stay at this property. The house was clean and had everything you could need while on vacation. The pond was so clean and clear. We even saw a loon.

This home is a fantastic gathering place, perfect for family time and making great memories! The home is very rustic and vintage which we all loved so much and the beach is just beautiful! Had everything needed for a comfortable stay, plenty of room and grounds are very nice. Washington is in the center of a lot of places to visit and things to do. We had so much fun and amazing quality time together, it was just truly awesome!

We stayed here over Christmas and it was perfect. Aside from the snow providing a white Christmas, The house was charming, comfortable, extremely well stocked with everything needed for a comfortable stay. Wood stove was wonderful as was the ample supply of wood. Alan was an excellent host. All in all couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Thank you. Alan and Helene

Amazing Winter Getaway

2024 was our second year back at this property and we had another wonderful time. The property is located in a triangle among three nice ski mountains and a ton of great hiking. The family had yet another relaxing winter trip.

Peaceful holiday

‘Cabin in the Sky’ was a perfect restful holiday destination with everything at hand the family cooks needed. Gorgeous forest surrounding one of the most pristine lakes with most comfortable chairs, terrific kayaks and canoes. We loved our stay and hope to visit again. Thank you!

This property has everything you could need, the location ideal. The Pond/Lake and amenities were top notch! We loved reading about the history of the cabin and the area. The general store was a favorite spot! The cabin is well loved, and deeply personal, at first this was uncomfortable as we felt like someone would come home at any minute and we were in someone’s space. The cabin grew on us and we found it quaint, grew fond of the artistic quirks if you will and were happy to have it as our homebase. We did have to vacuum upon arriving as we had a crawling infant and there were visibly items on the rugs. The stairs are extra steep, not the most infant/senior friendly cabin. One of the bedrooms upstairs did not have ac or a fan, as someone who is always cold I even found it to be uncomfortably warm. Overall were we very grateful for our stay at Cabin In the Sky.

Private home on the lake

The house is very private with great access to a large pond. Lots of canoes and paddle boats were avalible to use and were a great hit with the kids

Stepping back in time

I loved the house with so many bits of history of times past. It was also nice that it had just about anything you could possibly need which makes packing less stressful. I would have loved to k ow more about the artwork that adorns the walls and yard. I felt very much at peace while there.

Perfect Fall Getaway

My parents and I were in NH for a family wedding and this house was perfect for us! The host was very responsive and answered all my questions before our trip. My parents absolutely loved the house and said they would come back another time to enjoy all that NH has to offer.
