Kitchen cabinets filthy and sticky. Tv was dying, black/dark screen. Fridge not working properly…all food,in the fridge froze solid. Mismatched handles,on furniture. Carpet in bedroom was sticky. Air vents very dusty and dirty. This was my third stay at this property. This unit was the worst. Will look for alternative places for my next stay in the area.

I was happy to get a ground floor condo. I have mobility issues with climbing stairs. The condo was located a fairly good distance from pool & activity center. The condo needs some upkeep but it was pretty clean. I would have liked more kitchen cookware but what was there was adequate for breakfast. This was our third year at the Wyndgate. Weather not great due to recent Hurricane Erin. I guess you never know this time of year. All in all, grandkids loved pool & game room.

Just What We Needed

We had a two bedroom suite that I booked through VRBO….that was the only part that made me apprehensive. I received communication shortly before our arrival date that suggested I should pretend to know the owners to avoid aggressive time share pitches. It really wasn't bad…maybe because I was not there with a spouse. Anyway, the property was clean, spacious, affordable, and filled with a variety of entertainment. It was eight minutes to Colonial Williamsburg and about eleven minutes to Publix and Chick-fil-A. We are dinner at Sal’s Italian twice and it was awesome. My teen boys loved being able to go to the pool, the arcade, tennis courts and pool and I loved not having to worry about them being unsafe. The property had everything we needed, everything.

Williamsburg

Nice property, in a resort, so have to go through checkin onsite. The wristbands/keys didn't work on first attempt and tried 3 phone numbers, but none were answered so had to drive back to front office to get resolved. Its a nice place but be warned about the stairs, on 3rd floor and no elevator.

Sisters Weekend

Nice place to stay - a bit confusing at first but after checkin all went well. We could not use any of the resort’s facilities like the pools or game rooms etc. But that’s not what we were there for. It is a very short drive to stores restaurants and Colonial Williamsburg attractions.

Perfect for Families

A place to stay

Needed to stay for two weeks while some work was being done to our house. Ended up having to move units on the property as there was no hot water, the second unit had plenty of hot water, I suspect they use outside mounted tankless heaters but not 100% sure. The two units I used were furnished the same. The living room furniture was not comfortable at all, but the bed was very comfortable. The front desk staff was very pleasant, but had to tell them I didn't want to schedule a time share presentation several time before I actually got the room key. They primarily use mini keys on elastic wrist bands, but have credit card sized normal hotel keys available if you ask. The units are not very sound-proof as we could hear the children in the unit above run across their room all day/night as well as hear water swoosh, and outside conversations/cars running. The kitchen was adequately stocked. It served its purpose as a place to stay.

really nice place, would stay again

I am picky but this place deserves the five stars. The room is nice with quality furniture and comfortable beds. They are also very quick to answer when you call needing assistance. The only thing we did not like was the low water pressure in the showers. The free arcade was probably the highlight for the family. I thought it would have a handful of old games, but it is two rooms with maybe two dozen altogether. Many were modern more expensive games. It also has air hockey, a pool table and pinball machines. Miniature golf was also fun even if the course is pretty blah. The indoor and outdoor pools are nice but the hot tub is only outdoors so in the winter you have to venture outside if you want to use it. As far as the time-share pitch, it goes like this: You check in at the front desk and instead of giving you your keys, he sends you to another desk for "key pickup" or something like that where they offer you a free gift to attend their presentation. You decline and they ask again, but as long as you are firm, they let it go. It's annoying but only for a minute or two.

Updated rooms

I’ve been staying at the Kingsgate resort twice a year for the last four years. It was a nice surprise to get an updated room new carpet new furnishings. The best part is that they modified the restrooms where you have better water, pressure and hot water the resort in south is nice And staying in December and they had the resort decorated with Christmas lights around the outer barriers area. I would recommend this to any family wanting to stay.

Great vacation. Property was very nice although the woods side bedroom’s TV didn’t respond well to the remote. Remote may need new batteries. Also, the deadbolt on the adjoining suite door kept unlatching. Looks like the bracket that the deadbolt locks into was missing. Neither was an issue to us but thought you might want to know. The management did push for a session to pitch a timeshare but took no for an answer. Thanks for the heads up. Nice property on a nice trip.
