“This is everything you could want from a farm stay. Friendly, healthy animals and a property that has obviously been thoughtfully cultivated over the years. Our kids LOVED it. Lisa is a great host and the house has everything you could think of. Quiet and peaceful yet convenient to West Jefferson, and the New River and many other parks. We will definitely be back!!.”

“We stayed there for the wedding we went to. It is a little out of the way, but worth it. We did enjoy our stay there. We would stay there again if need be. It was nice to have a flat yard for the kids to play.”

“I could go on and on about how great this property is and how wonderful Donna is, but I think everyone else has already said that. This beautiful property was built in the 1800s and has history with her family. The house has a story and honestly, made it extra special. It was also very nice to come get a hot bath in a whirlpool jetted tub after running 34 miles on the Virginia Creeper Trail. I HIGHLY recommend staying here if you’re going to Abingdon. “The home was just as advertized. It is a wonderful old farmhouse with all of the character you would expect. It reminded me of my grandparents home of which I have many fond memories. The modern appliances and convenience amenities were great, but the character of the house was the best part. My wfe and I had a very enjoyable stay. We will definitely stay again.”

“My wife and I, and our kids really enjoyed this quiet and rural farm- plenty of space for the kids to roam, they loved collecting eggs from the chickens, feeding the pig and brushing the horses. Small pond is great for taking very young ones canoeing.”

“The house is very nice and well supplied with everything we needed: beautiful porch, lots of amenities, altogether very comfortable! 5 min. from the General Store and less than 10 from the state park entrance. It was a perfect base for day hikes. The host was attentive but not intrusive.”

“My family and I enjoyed our stay here. Everything was clean and neat and the process of checking in and out was easy-peasy. I rated it four stars instead of five because it is remote, so unless you're sticking to cycling or activities on the nearby South Fork of the New River, you'll be driving a bit to get anywhere. Although I'm a lifelong resident of NC, I'm always discovering new places to visit, and this was a great one. I would definitely stay there again when I have more time to explore...

“Nice sized lodge for family gathering. Plenty of room, great sitting area on front porch. Nicely planted flower beds around lodge, attracted hummingbirds and butterflies. Only the most basic amenities provided. I definitely would recommend using a 4-wheel drive to access the property. Any vehicle low to the ground could bottom out.”
