It is a small property, but a large back yard away from the owners home. Everything was excellently equipped, 3 blocks from downtown. My favorite was relaxing on the screen porch after spending the day out in the forests. Loved the white squirrels romping in the back yard.

We loved our stay at Sunrise Cottage. Carol was a warm and inviting host and was very responsive to our questions. We also appreciate her flexibility with our hectic schedule! Within easy walking distance to town, and we even saw a white squirrel on the lawn!

Great place to stay in Brevard! Clean with a great kitchen, comfortable bed, and great shower. The screened in porch is great for relaxing in the afternoon. Filtered water was a bonus! Carol was a great host, and we would absolutely stay here again!

This place was great! I’m handicapped and use a walker, so I was pleasantly surprised that there were no stairs to get inside. We never checked out the backyard or the play structure since we didn’t have any kids. Carol was great and made sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. And as a bonus it was just a few houses away from one of my sister-in-laws! We will definitely be coming back!

My daughter and I enjoyed staying at Sunset Cottage. The highlights for us were the screened porch, the location, and the beautiful gardens. It was an easy walk into town which made our visit to Brevard even more enjoyable. I would definitely stay here again.

Very nice place! Carol is very nice - greeted me in the driveway, she keeps a really nice garden and takes good care of her property. The place is not big but everything we needed - two full bedrooms plus a decent-sized living area. And I enjoyed hanging out on the screened patio any time of day and taking in the natural habitat. It’s a little bit of a walk to parts of downtown - seems like more of a drive. I would definitely stay here again!

Beautiful Cottage

Though the cottage was slightly smaller than I had imagined, it turned out to be a perfect setup for our family of 4. The host Carol was lovely and we really appreciated being able to stay in such a clean, safe, and beautiful location that was walkable to the shopping downtown. We also really liked the screened in porch to sit and enjoy our morning coffee. The parking is tight for bigger vehicles, but I highly recommend this great spot.

wonderful home base for waterfall hiking

My wife, 7 year old daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the sunset cottage. We are avid waterfall hikers, and this downtown location proved a central location to access the plethora of nearby waterfalls. The cottage was very bright, clean, and well stocked with all the typical items you might need when traveling. The host was lovely, reaching out to me the day before arrival to let me know we could check in early if desired and greeting us when we arrived. Outside of that friendly greeting, we were afforded perfect privacy, which is important when staying in a cottage with another home on the same property. My daughter loved her room with the extra pull-out bed. The high ceilings were an unexpected plus.The only drawback that I’ll mention to travelers is that while the home is very close to the downtown core, the streets and sidewalks aren’t set up to walk safely (at least not with a child) to said central businesses. With that said, you could not ask for a quicker and easier drive to downtown restaurants and shops. My family would definitely consider coming back to this home away from home on our next trip to brevard.

Rest and Reconnection

My 2 daughters-in-law and I used to travel to the mountains with my sweet mother-in-law. She has aged with dementia and we haven’t had a girls trip to the mountains in 5 years. I wanted to rekindle our Nail Girl’s Trip and revive the yearly mountain trip! I found Sunset Cottage on Best Life Dr. in Brevard, and it was the perfect place for us! We had a wonderful, relaxing time shopping in Brevard and visiting at the cottage! Carol’s place was sooo clean and inviting! It was short…but so sweet to reconnect together with our Lord and each other!

Wonderful all the way around!

Had a wonderful time, even with the rainy weather. Place is in a great location, close and walkable. Clean and well stocked with anything you would need. Host was very helpful with suggestions of places to eat, where to go, etc. Will be back! Thank you Ms Carol!

Delightful Cottage

Carol’s place is a lovely cottage: roomy, comfortable and clean. And the location was great! It’s a nice 10 minute walk to town. We look forward to staying there again in the future.

Great location, amazing host

I loved my stay at sunrise cottage. The cottage was so cozy and stocked with everything i needed. The back yard was a great place to chill and the fire pit wad an added bonus. Carol was very kind and responsive :)

Great stay!

This property was a great location for us as we visited friends in Brevard. All of the arrival instructions were clear and easy to follow. Communication from the owner was kind and timely leading up to the stay, during and after. The place was very clean and had everything we needed. Although our stay was short, this would be a great spot for a longer stay.
