“The room/apartment was basically a bedsit in a HMO in an unsafe, dangerous area of the city. Immediately above a dodgy takeaway. Mouldy shower, kids stickers all over the furniture, outdated and not remotely like the pictures. The photos in the listing are not for this property which should be made explicitly clear. “dirty room, had someone’s dirty laundry, shower and toilets all stained with brown and yellow stains, door hanger flung off as we walked in, all surfaces dirty, dead bugs at windowsill, bedsheets stained with black stuff. so dirty and poor communication, left after 30 minutes and got no refund whatsoever. also no lock on bathroom door, one of the beds was broken, plug socket broken”

“The apartment was brand new and clean. Sadly, though, we weren’t able to enjoy our stay at all. Due to space limitations set by Hotels.com, I can only share the worst of the reasons here. We reached the building at check-in time, jet-lagged and exhausted. We hadn’t slept for 40 hrs, as we’d traveled on an overnight flight from the US and then taken a train.
