Destin Vacation from Hell

Upon arrival we were not able to get in to the condo. We had to drive around and call various people from Vrbo, and salt water vacations. We even drove to the office at Sandpiper cove where they informed us that salty water vacations were a pain in the ass to get ahold of. Finally someone answered a phone and we got in to our condo after an hour. They didn’t send our reservation to Sandpiper cove so they weren’t expecting us. After this issue the pottery manager called my husband back and was being very rude to him. He told her he was going to leave a bad review so she threatened to leave our business after googling my husband and telling him the name of our business. Keep in mind we are on vacation we live in Indiana, we obviously do not service lawn care and landscaping in Destin. She then tried to smooth things over by offering to bring us alcohol to which we do not drink. Also our washer wasn’t working and she stayed there would be someone to come fix it by 9am the following morning. No one showed up. There were 3 separate occasions we came home to cockroaches, one being massive like 2 inches long. We packed up and had to move to another location at 11pm. The new location wasn’t ideally what we wanted but it was a clean unit. We did have issues at this unit as well, every time we left the door code wouldn’t work when we came back. We had to send text for new codes when we got back. The place didn’t have very warm water. And the power was out in the master bed/bath.

Great place overall

Was very nice and great wish they would of told me it was 2nd floor .great location little bit of a walk to the beach but not bad bathroom very small very clean and well kept though but if you get there even 10 minutes before 4pm they will still not let you in just so you know pool was great hated that there was not a dumpster even close to anyone on the end

Great location

Beach was beautiful and just a few minutes to walk to. Traffic is horrible in Destin so next time will definitely get a golf cart. Loved the condo . We will stay in this same area next time if possible

Nice place

When we arrived at the condo the guards at the gate had no record of our stay at first but they quickly resolved that. Room was very clean and well kept. Would definitely stay here again. Cleaning staff did knock on the door at 7:50 am on checkout day wanting to clean however said that they would come back later when reminded that checkout wasn’t until 10am. Louisiana Lagniappe was delicious and the Destin water taxi is a fun and convenient way to access all of the dining and entertainment options on the harbor.

Excellent location

We have been to Sand Piper Cove six times now. This location is great. Size of the condo was great for me and my husband. Overall, the condo was pretty clean, except for dust bunnies under beds and along baseboards. The master bed was not very comfortable, but we are picky at our ages! Water pressure in the kitchen sink is pretty low, but that is nothing we were really concerned with as we ate out most of our trip. I love that Target was right across the street. And Mimmo's Italian Restaurant was too, and it is a definite must try!! Cant beat this location. We had a great trip.

Great Property and Location

This was a great property. Excellent location and staff. Vrbo needs to list the age requirements more noticeably. We drove all the way from Texas to learn we didn’t meet the age requirement. Luckily the staff were understanding. 5 stars for the staff at Sandpiper Cove, -5 stars for Vrbo for putting that info hidden in fine print and not having verification on booking process

Absolutely wonderful!

I stayed here for 2 months and was so impressed with how nice this condo was inside. Unfortunately, they were doing the roof at one point and that was a lot. All in all though, I loved that there was a door code, the gate guards were all so sweet and nice, and I really enjoyed the location! I would rent again for sure!

Awesome

Only issue I had is the pictures of condos are the whole house ones on listing and not the apartments. This unit is an upstairs unit and no ideal for older people with bad knees. Other than that this place was beyond perfect !!!

Very nice location

Nice visit but if you like to do your own cooking, the kitchen was not supplied with the basics. No dishwashing detergent, no dish clothes, no scrubbers spices/salt/pepper, not enough silverware. Would have been perfect for people who eat out every meal. The laundry closet door was broken.

Family vacay.

We absolutely loved our time in destin. Love the location and the overall vibe of the unit. We did find the mattress’s to be a little uncomfortable. Other than that we loved the stay there. It was a very peaceful stay.

Management walking in unit without knocking?

Property as stated in listing. Clean, close walk/drive to private beach. The area was pretty quiet. One of the pools (the only heated pool) was closed for maintenance our entire week stay, which was disappointing but no fault of the owners. Our first day we arrived, we were bring our things in and getting settled a person from the rental company walked in without knocking on the door to the unit. It made us very uneasy the rest of the trip knowing someone could walk in at any time. Hopefully this does not happen regularly. Beside the person walking in without knocking we were not bothered and had a nice quiet stay. We did not feel safe leaving our valuables in the condo and did not feel safe at night knowing someone could come in at anytime. This was a member of the management company, not a member of the condo association.
