“Wonderful, spacious and comfortable property. Very quiet with a beautiful outlook over the countryside. Well-equipped kitchen so great for cooking. Golf courses were all within 20 mins drive, as are the range of supermarkets and shopping in Douglas, and Castletown Links is thoroughly recommended. Port Erin is lovely and we had delicious fish and chips there. A slightly slow draining shower tray and a rather dated TV were the only minor drawbacks but we'd return in a shot! Thanks for having us.”

“Lovely older hotel - lotsa stairs to some of the rooms but not an issue for us. Very nice rooms, comfortable bed, great hotel staff. Great breakfast, great location close to shopping, train and bus, and ferry terminal. Great breakfast and nice restaurant overall.”

“We stayed to end out TT holiday in the IOM the hotel was gray outside and looked very dowdy. The staff in the front desk were very friendly. the rooms needed a deep clean, the restaurant was very quiet and the staff and food was extremely poor; I didn’t expect to wait so long to be told to wait on our self’s for a £60 Sunday dinner that was supposed to be our 10th wedding anniversary dinner, something luxurious but the lamb was cold and tough, the beef was inedible the veg was cooked well but...

“The Sefton is a grand building toward the town centre end of the promenade and about 10 minutes walk from the Sea Terminal and buses to and from the airport stop close by, so very convenient. Check in was smooth. I booked an atrium room which was quiet, modern but not bland. Good bathroom, living area with a balcony. The room was clean and in good order, regular top ups in the tea/ coffee dept; along with complimentary bottled water. The bed was rather firm I thought but I slept well. Breakfast...

“It's a very clean hotel, the ownership is very friendly and helpful. It is not a modern cookie cutter hotel or building. It is the Victorian era. It is not fancy in modern terms. The stairs are steep and narrow, they way they were done at the time it was built. I would like more lighting on them. Breakfasts were good and satisfying. I had plenty of hot water. ”

“Great location. Right on the promenade and close to the electric tram station. Walk to the other end of the promenade bracing but level. Loved the island. You can see lots by public transport. Get a GO card. Such good value. Beds soft and been well slept in. Breakfast bit disappointing- very traditional. We had a bar meal the night we arrived. Again disappointed. Steak sandwich on plain white bread - ??? We found lots of other fantastic places to eat. ”

“Great location. Great staff. Very good breakfast. Room size is typical of hotels of its era - small but comfortable. There is no lift but staff will readily help to carry luggage up the stairs to your room.”
