“Initially booked for 4 nights. This Inn is desperately in need of upgrading, deep cleaning and renovation. First night was in room 3 (which we were told by manager Alex is “the worst room). Spider web with daddy longlegs in it greeted us. Room was damp, musty smelling and bedding was clammy and wet. We were moved to room 9 for next 2 nights. “It was a lovely place to stay while in Dorset. It’s an 8 minute drive to the main Weymouth beach promenade. 36 minutes from Durdle Door, 46 minutes from Sherborne Castle. The breakfast is really good and we left with full tummies ready for an adventure. However you do have to share a table with other guests at breakfast. If that is not your thing, maybe it’s not for you.”

They were off on a short family break leaving the In Laws to cover Breakfast etc. Incl checking out and settling the bill 'if this had not already been done with David or Lorna before they had left'. Slight Communication breakdown we felt but overall had a fab stay. Reccommeded by us.”

“Stayed the night in the converted skittle ally - Pre-Booked a table for Dinner days before, Service was really poor - Left for 35 Minutes with no one attempting to take order, had to go to bar to complain - staff more interested in chatting with locals then serving the tables - food was dropped on the table, at no point did anyone ask if the food was ok, left feeling like we were not welcome - a complete shame because the food we did receive was amazing ! clearly a great kitchen team, let down...

“The Old Bakehouse was a lovely homely place to stay, and the village of Colyton is in a pretty and convenient location to visit several attractions in the area, go to the beach, cycle or hike. Fiona and Steve were excellent, very helpful, and hospitable hosts. “What a beautiful hotel. I stayed in a superior double which was very well appointed. The bed was very comfortable, plenty of storage space, fluffy towels, plenty of hot water and excellent tea and coffee, biscuits and water. The owners were very friendly and made me feel most welcome. The breakfast was freshly cooked to order and was delicious. You would never go hungry.
