“The mansion was beautiful and decorated Victorian style. Our room had its own A/C unit and attached bathroom with shower and spa tub. Breakfast was a delicious combo of cold buffet and personally served hot ham and egg sandwich. The owner is a great host and happy to tell the history of the house and area. Located in downtown Dubuque and walking distance to restaurants. ”

They are still working on completing the renovations which was good for us because we got to go thru all the rooms & see all the furnishings. When we arrived Expedia hadn't notified staff (Dave & Pete) that we were coming but we had made reservations within an hour-ish before. So, our room hadn't been cleaned. “From time to time I find myself traveling back to Keokuk to see friends. After staying at Ginny’s place I know I will never stay anywhere else. Very clean, spacious, super nice kitchen area, comfy bed. Plus she left us vouchers for breakfast in the coffee shop below. We loved the fact that an old building had been renovated and saved. I had a friend's wedding in the area and being one of the further away guests travel expenses were already adding up fast. most of the hotels in the area for the time I needed to be there were a bit over my budget.
