“Great location. Very friendly and welcoming owners. Just a note that the bathroom and toilet are actually separate to the hut, and you need your own towels. We had enjoyable stay with the cosiness of the hut and watching the sheep out of the window. The hut seems to be well insulated, as the nights were cool but the hut remained warm, even without using the little wood burner.”

“My daughter and I stayed in the Orme lodge, it was lovely. Nice and warm, squirrels outside the windows. Hot tub is just a hot tub - not one with bubbles! so don't look for a button to press lol Very peaceful. If you go with kids (i went with teenager) then maybe take a laptop to watch netflix etc on. wifi connection great. Don't wear sliders on your feet when trying to do the fire or else you will slip on the mud which is hilarious to a teenager btw. Hot tub takes about 4 hours to...

We also found that some of the information provided on the property listing at the time of booking to be somewhat questionable, suggesting a cabin size of 215 sq ft and containing a bathroom, which we now understand relates to facilities in a separate building on the property. “Great location, though a bit confusing to find the last mile or two (very rural and no signs), and not clear where to park because cabin is behind two closed gates on heavily forested roads. The cabin was very nice and we slept well. Gorgeous spot and convenient to ride the Snowden train. We would stay there again.”

“No check in information received, when I contacted the host was told ‘it’s not hard it’s left unlocked’ during our stay the host walked past us several times to feed the llamas head down, didn’t even say hello, text to ask how to use the gas fire during our stay and no response, was made to feel very unwelcome. Shame as the shepherds hurt is nice”

“If you’re looking for a seamless, relaxing escape, this is it! The property is spotless and exceptionally well-maintained. The highlight is definitely the stunning scenery enjoyed from the huts and the hot tubs.
