“Our family of 4 came for a long weekend at Solomons Island, where we spent time as kids. The Retreat on the Patuxent is an ideal place to get away for peaceful relaxation, while being conveniently located near the restaurants and attractions at Solomons. My mom loved the upstairs bedroom/bathroom suite, and the downstairs bedrooms were spacious for me, my sister, and her husband. We enjoyed the spacious kitchen, the open family room, and the amazing views of the Patuxent from the front windows....

“This house is huge and has lots of different indoor and outdoor gathering spaces so the kids and adults in our group of three families didn’t have to be on top of each other in one living space the whole time. Big firepit area and huge lawn were great, and we enjoyed the kayaks and canoe. There’s a place to buy fresh crabs, oysters, and shrimp very close by, and the house has everything you need for a crab night. The owner was incredibly responsive and kind.”

“Soul enriching location. The dock, the fresh eggs, the local GBH, and night sky all contribute. Quick access to Blackwater NWR. The furnishings and kitchen accessories are adequate. The microwave door no longer closes correctly and has to be pushed until the fan stops. None of that matters because of the location. ”
