Wonderful resort

Vacation in Garden city 2023

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Vacation was good! The problem we had was that the tvs weren’t working properly. We don’t watch much tv when we’re there, but we like to watch it at night when we go to bed. It took 4 days to resolve the problem. Was not impressed. The door to enter was very hard to open and neeeds updating as I feel the whole condo needs. I really likr Royal Gardens, but this was the worst condo we stayed at there. I’m just trying to give an honest opinion.

Was given keys at check in that did not work and wrong pool code that had been changed since 7/4. Maintenance people were amazing with helping with the door locks that have been an issue for quite some time now.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This condo looks nothing like the pictures on the listing! The couch is not the same. The couch was a gray dirty color and the cushions were so smooshed you could barely sit on it. The recliners were all stained. I felt gross sitting on them. The wood floor was all stained. The kitchen stools cushions were extremely dirty and stained. The bathroom in hall the wall paper was peeling. The master bedroom had dust all over the ceiling. We put the fan on and all this dust came off. Tiles in master and bathroom were cracked. You could not sit out on balcony all you smelled was marijuana. Definitely not a family resort. Royal Gardens needs to up their game. On 2 separate nights someone threw up all over the common area near elevators and it took hours to clean up! The condo needs updating and a good cleaning. We did not spend much time inside thankfully. Rent at your own risk!

But the condo was dated and dirty looks like it was not cleaned from the vacationers before, bed covers dirty and stained, rugs looked years old.Meet had to clean the entire area.We don’t expect spotless but at least beds and rugs.

Worst unit ever

The overhead fans had a collection of dust 1/2 inch thick, the floors were filthy, there were bugs, the sheets on the bed had sand on them, the balcony was filthy, and the unit was in very bad condition and very outdated. It was so bad that my daughter left with our 10 month old grand baby and went home after the first day because she didn't want her crawling around on filthy floors or being exposed to the filth! It ruined the week for us as grandparents!

View was amazing!!Area was awesome, excellent food, clean beach, nice and polite people.I will come to Garden City, South Carolina in the future, however I will not be staying in this building due to the parking accommodations..... not suitable for full-size SUV’s...... horrible parking garage!!!!! Very small tight spaces!!!!!

Reviewer Comments: Assured by Garden City Realty that strict Covid cleaning would be done before we could occupy unit; notified @ 10:55 unit was clean from previous guest; signed off by Chaz; Very very dirty; dryer filter debris so thick it stood up on the table by itself; kitchen chairs w food on them; counter with smeared food; master fan threw dirt on bed when turned on; clumps of dirt along all baseboards; socks black after 2 trips down hall unloading; mattress covers dirty; plates in cupboard w dried food on them; re-cleaned entire unit and charged for cleaning when we left? This place is a joke! Old beds: Foam as a mattress topper in 2nd bedroom? dirty mattress pads there too; Needs updating desperately! Documented all complaints with photos but no place here for attachments. General Maintenance gentleman who fixed washer was wonderful. That's the best I can do on this mess of a unit.

There was a layer of dust on the fans which I have pictures, the toilets weren’t cleaned the toilet brush was disgusting I can’t believe they even had that there. The lint trap for the dryer on the side where you had to put water in was completely filled with lint. The floors were not cleaned you could tell.I was just not happy with the place not being cleaned. I wouldn’t recommend that condo at all. The place my mom stayed in a few floors down was beautiful and clean.

Glad to be home again

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Within 24 hours after arrival, someone entered our unit with a key and robbed us. The owner did replace the lock. We stayed here before and did not experience such a problem. The recliners are worn and uncomfortable but there is a new couch. Garden City Realty was excellent and even loaned us a TV for our stay because the unit's living room TV has to be shut off and turned back on every hour and twenty minutes or else the sound becomes distorted. The owner replaced the bedroom TV. The unit had thick dust all over the fans, trim and lampshades. We washed the doors and woodwork. During the duration of our stay, people were working on the balconies.

1211 Review - Many Maintenance & Updates Needed!

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This unit was not clean and has many maintenance needs - the bathtub was filthy and needs a good bleach and scrub. None of the three TV’s worked properly during our stay and need to be replaced (if you have to put up a sign saying the TV volume will become distorted, it’s probably time to replace the TV). The kitchenware was very beat up. Paint is peeling offs the walls, ceilings are cracked, and the second bathroom ceiling tiles look like they are falling down. It’s definitely time to make upgrades because the unit does not provide a calm and relaxing vacation experience.

Royal Garden Resort Stay August 2019

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This unit was MUCH smaller than expected and wasn't very clean upon arrival. The floors hadn't been cleaned (everyone had black feet within 30 min of arrival) and there were two large dead bugs in the living room by the sliding glass door. The kitchen wasn't very clean and every drawer you touched on the outside was sticky as if something had been spilled on it. The cable worked great, small tv and it malfunctioned about every hour. The balcony hadn't been touched or swept before our arrival, the rails were covered in bird poop and feathers and dirt everywhere. I've stayed in much cleaner spacious places for a lot less money. I've booked through GCR many times, as well as Dunes Realty but I will not return to this rental and was disappointed for the price. The pool is small, and super overcrowded daily. The chairs in the living room were a life saver (though only seats 2) because the couch desperately needs replaced and is broken down and uncomfortable.

We adjusted quickly and it did NOT ruin our stay. We watched the beach replenishment from the balcony in our free time. Even with the distractions we were pleased with our stay.

Nobody could fix due to the complexity of the issue. Communication was always we are ending somebody, but nobody ever came until we kept calling repeatedly. We were more concerned the owners would have a "higher" cost to repair because the prolonged timeline to address the issue. We were inconvenienced; however, we made the best of our week in this unit.

We've had problems with our units at RG last 3 yrs. Leaking ceiling this yr., plumbing backup last, and no electric on walls in bedrooms 3 yrs. ago. But we still love RG location and it's pools and will stay again.

The king size bed in this condo was awful after 1 night. I would not recommend this condo. Here on our anniversary, we slept in the single beds ...not a good anniversary. The whole reason we went with this condo was because of the king size bed.
