“From the very start of our stay to then end we could not fault The Dolphin in anyway shape or form. The room was beautifully decorated as well as the bathroom and had everything you would need.
The restaurant for evening meal as well has breakfast was incredible, the freshness of food was really good quality and fresh ingredients. All staff were friendly from the outset, and were always willing to go above and beyond.

“We had an enjoyable stay overall, despite a few minor inconveniences. The hotel benefits from a great location, and the availability of on-site parking was particularly convenient.
We felt that a few improvements could really help elevate the experience. While the hotel is generally well maintained, some areas feel a little tired, neglected and lacking in purpose. The leisure area, particularly the space next to the now-closed swimming pool, is one example.
We stayed in a family room, which...

“Nice old building but in need of repairs and updates, room wasn’t particularly clean, old windows with condensation and not be cleaned for a while !
Good breakfast, location not bad but a killer of a hill to get back up at night, was ok as a base but if looking for a special occasion I’d look elsewhere”

“Lovely old building, beautifully clean and comfortable. Steve and Fiona were very welcoming and kind. Also, they cooked a mean breakfast from a varied menu. It was delicious. The only downside was the lack of parking outside The Bakehouse. It proved to be very difficult but the upside was that approx 60 yards away was a Car Park for only £3.30 for 24 hours! Highly recommend The Bakehouse if you are planning a visit to East Devon.”

“The room we had was clean and tidy with clean towels etc. We did fine some sweets and a tablet under the bed when I dropped my own tablet but otherwise, clean. One wall light appeared to not work but not a problem to us. The staff throughout were friendly and helpful. There is a well stocked bar with national brands as well as more local ones. Beer is a lovely place where you can relax and life slows down if you want it to.”
