Ryokans en Onsen Toi

“What an incredible stay for us. First time to a ryokan (i.e., traditional Japanese inn w/ onsen). What an experience! Hotel is somewhat confusing to navigate, but that is part of the adventure. The public onsen was incredible (note: they swap the male and female sides, so pay ATTENTION!). The room we stayed in was "traditional" in that we had five futons atop tatami. Haven't selpt that well in a long time! The in-room onsen was a bit old school (basically a deep tub), but still oh so magical....

“Great staff, amenities, good food, nice view of Mt Fuji. Very high end hotel, worth the price and would visit again. ”

“The room was large, clean and comfortable. We had a fantastic view of Saruga Bay. Unfortunately we didn't have time to try the onsen. Lovely place, highly recommend! ”

“We really enjoyed our stay, tattoos were not a problem”

“Fantastic location to unwind and relax. Great room with own sauna and outdoor bath was awesome”

“The staff at this ryokan were incredibly kind and welcoming, the amenities were wonderful, and the traditional food was truly excellent. Unfortunately, the condition of the room completely overshadowed these highlights. As soon as we entered, we were hit with a heavy, overpowering scent of mildew making it quite uncomfortable to breathe. Upon closer inspection, we found visible mold growing on the walls. For the price of a ryokan experience, proper upkeep and a mold-free environment should be a...
