“Very exciting staying in a real old chateau, but with the facilities of a very thoughtful full restoration with modern comforts such as a/c, floor heating and huge and beautiful private bathrooms. The site is also very pretty, a large estate well landscaped. Last but not least, Jennifer was a great hostess.”

“The Manoir d’Isly was delightful. It has spacious rooms with high ceilings, 4 en-suites and 2 family shower rooms, lovely places for dining inside and out and a well-equipped kitchen. The pool, 2 table tennis tables, trampoline and baby-foot were great for the kids (aged 9-14).The attic bedroom with 4 beds is rather hot in the height of summer - luckily we didn’t need to use it. “We were with 8 adults and had a lovely stay in the Perigord region with quiet surroundings. Just the sound of a lot of birds keeps you awake during the day. The castle is very well equipped and decorated and not to big, neither to small. It fits the number of guests very good. You can visit several nice little towns(one or two stars Michelin!) but make cycle or walking tours as well. In short: lovely castle and park, everything you need is there.”

Our first view of the chateau was from its imposing position on the hillside which could be seen from several kilometres away basking in the evening sun as we approached. There is a 400m meandering drive up the hillside toward Chateau Madame that provides a secluded and safe setting. “We had a wonderful time at this location. Beautiful surroundings, a lovely castle, and a house with a pool. Upon arrival, a few things were amiss, and these were addressed and resolved immediately. So the service was very good. The location is good, 4* For a 5* review we advise the owners to do more in terms of maintenance.”
