There are not enough words to describe how much my family and I enjoyed our time here. I was getting married at HBR and since my family was flying all the way from the East Coast to see it, I wanted to make sure they thought it was worth it! The views from the balcony are unbelievable. We saw rainbows, boats, surfers, countless waterfalls. You cannot get them anywhere else. The condo provides ample seating to enjoy it and that's probably where we spent the majority of the time.
We loved that there were three separate units as there were three separate family units. We could have our privacy, but also come together just as easy. The kitchen is huge, with ample supplies to make large families comfortable. The space in the living room is gorgeous. The furniture is so comfortable and inviting-- pretty sure my brother ended up sleeping on the couch every night we were there.
You can tell that the owner does everything she can do share HBR, Kauai and her home with visitors. There were toys, beach chairs, games, movies-- everything you could want. They even left out a crib and high chair for my niece at no extra cost. Right down to the bench out front to take your shoes off and the basket to place them in.
The condo itself was situated in a very lovely part of the resort. While it can be a bit of a walk to the parking lot, it's a relatively flat walk and not too much for my mom who just had hip surgery a few months ago. The fire pit is right out the front door-- which was wonderful at night!, ice and soda are right downstairs as well. You have laundry right in your unit and I'm not ashamed to admit that the machines are better than what we have at home. And you're steps to the pool, but far enough away that it's not too loud during the day.
The only two suggestions I would say to make this place better would be as follows: 1.) the fridge in 4301 is starting to die, it kept our bottles of water cool, but not cold. Could be a problem if you don't have access to the main fridge. and 2.) there should be a light on the balcony. When it got dark out there, it really got dark!
Overall, this vacation was perfect. Even after staying at the Grand Hyatt, the overwhelming majority of us said they thought this condo and HBR was better. It's a low key, relaxing and welcoming environment. Everyone at the resort, including guests, were so happy to be there and happy to talk to you. It truly was paradise. Thanks for sharing, Janice!
