The scuba diving and snorkeling was super easy and convenient. The food was great. Taxis into town were easy and cheap. The staff was great.

Tranquilseas is a wonderful small dive resort. The staff from the resort and dive center were very caring and attentive. Our room Tortuga, was clean and comfortable. Loved that we had a cold/hot water filter in our room. Restaurant food was very good, and the open menu included breakfast was excellent. Dive Center is steps from rooms and beach. We enjoyed our Dive Masters and in January we had only 2-6 divers on the boat which was so nice. We like things laid back and this resort really provided that relaxing, easy experience.

Great hotel
I can't recommend Tranquilseas enough. The entire staff was amazing and friendly, and having only 9 rooms at the resort, you really get to know and interact with them. The food and drinks were also very good - the breakfast smoothies and lemonades were great. The location is quiet and great for relaxing. The hotel has a recently renovated dock that is great for relaxing or snorkeling. It was very easy to get a taxi for a quick 5 minute drive to the West End. We were able to arrange pickup and drop-off at the airport through the hotel which made everything very easy.

There are only 9 rooms at this lodge so it is quiet and very restful. The Sunken Fish Restaurant on site is outstanding food. Some of the best we have ever had in all our travels. No beach, but no worries they have a private dock with a large two-story thatched roof cabana with a great breeze. They have a dive center on site, but they take snorkelers with them as well. That staff is outstanding. If you don’t wanna go out on the dive boat, no worries there’s plenty of tropical fish all around in the area right off the dock. This place deserves the rating my wife and I are giving them. We will definitely be going back, so hopefully you don’t book up all the rooms when we plan on going the next time. 😁

We had unfortunate timing. There was work being done on the pool that was scheduled to be completed prior to our arrival. The constant construction noise was far from tranquil. The staff was very understanding and we were fortunate to be refunded, and more fortunate to find a neighboring resort with availability.

We stayed in early October and had a wonderful time. Our room was clean and beautifully decorated, just like the pictures show, with views of the ocean from our windows and private balcony. The food was incredible. My favorite was the seafood pasta dinner that I ordered twice. The staff was attentive, honest and super helpful. We dove from their boats with their dive masters twice each day and got to enjoy that gorgeous reef, so much to see underwater in Roatan.

We had a fantastic stay! What really sets this place apart is the staff! The manager Jordan and his wife are amazing! The waitstaff, bartenders and house cleaning staff fantastic. Harry and Miguel in the restaurant were great. The resort is super cool. It sets into the hill side surrounded by plant life and trees! Jordan and his wife were extremely welcoming and very helpful on what to do. They even set things up for our large group.

Best Stay in Sandy Bay for Travel Aficionados
My new favorite place to stay. It was a short (4 day) trip but one of the most enjoyable I’ve had in a long time (I’ve been to 77 countries). My room was newly updated to be Instagram-worthy and comfortable, with a great front porch area. The food was delicious and varied enough that I tried something new for each meal, and preferred it to going out. Snorkeling is pretty good right out front. And, the staff went above and beyond each day!

Quaint, small resort. Exactly as described in website. Pool needs updating, but that is in the plans for this year. Highly recommend for anyone looking for an amazing stay and diving experience.

This small resort at Sandy Bay was our third stop for our third week on Roatan, and the best. The rooms are all uniquely designed with an abundance of charm and character. We stayed in the dragonfly room and thought it wonderful, clean and comfortable. The patio is huge with a great view of the ocean that makes you feel like you are on top of the world. The restaurant serves good food the breakfasts are excellent, and if you like variety, there are a couple other resorts with restaurants an easy walk down the beach. This is a small resort, in a fairly quiet neighborhood compared to west end, or west bay, so you will likely get to know some neighbors which we enjoyed. The beautiful dock has areas for sunning and sitting in the shade enjoying the tranquil seas. Get a massage on the upper dock if that's your thing. The dive shop got us out to the nearby dive sites in a safe and friendly manner. The reef is a bit of a swim from the dock, there are kayaks if you want one. Once out there the snorkeling is beautiful. We saw sting rays, lobsters and a multitude of fish and coral, which is what the entire island is known for. The best part of the resort is the friendly staff who made us feel welcome at every encounter. The weak spot is the pool. If you are not a diver, or snorkeler but coming along for the ride, you may be disappointed with the pool with is it's tucked in location that sees very little sun. There is plenty of sun on the dock though, and the ocean is warm!

We pride ourselves being an eco-lodge and offering our guests the chance to experience the island nature and culture. Best resort ever! We spoke with the property manager by email, they were very prompt in their responses, & answered all our questions. They arranged for a taxi to pick us up at the airport, they took our stuff to our room while they gave us a tour of the property. The property is absolutely beautiful, the views are amazing & it's the best location. There's a pool, laundry room, dive center, bar & a restaurant. Jordan, the property manager, & his wife, Ellie were so accommodating & friendly & helpful, they took care of absolutely everything! In casual conversation, Jordan discovered it was our anniversary the following day & surprised us by arranging for housekeeping to decorate our room with flowers & 'towel swans' with a card, he also had the restaurant reserve our favorite table (also a surprise) for dinner that evening & had them bake us a cake! That was so sweet! We were floored with with their hospitality! Our waiter even worked with my husband to find & play our wedding song after dinner! There's water in the room with a small kitchen & coffee maker, no fridge or microwave, but you have everything you need at the restaurant, which has incredible food! Absolutely everything we ate was simply delicious & the drinks were outstanding! They had live music on Friday, so much fun! The dive center was great! We dove everyday and it was amazing! Iron and Steiner were great dive tour guides, we had awesome dives every day! We will absolutely be back!

Sandy Bay is a nice quiet retreat from the more populated beaches of Roatan. We loved our stay at Tranquil Seas -- the restaurant is fabulous -- had many good dinners there and the included breakfasts were excellent. Samuel who owns the dive shop is super knowledgable and friendly. We rented snorkeling equipment and kept it in our room. The Bay offers amazing snorkeling -- you can just swim out to the reef and see everything that the Carribean offers,we snorkeled first thing in the morning and whenever we had freetime. We tried hand fishing with Samuel too. He filleted the Tuna we caught and the restaurant prepared delicious sushi, sashimi and rolls for us. We are not scuba divers, but most who stay there are, and everyone seemed delighted with their dives and Samuel's team.

I absolutely loved staying here. This was the best vacation that I’ve had in YEARS. The staff fosters an environment of community at that resort. The office staff can be spotted assisting the restaurant staff. The dive shop owner is extremely personable and her staff is helpful. The restaurant’s food is top notch and the live music on Wednesday and Friday nights is A-maxing. People from the island calls the restaurant one of their favorite spots and that is how I made friends with locals and hung out during the day. The property manager is very accommodating by booking a driver for pick up from the air port and drop off. The room was cleaned once a day and it was nice to be asked when I would like my room cleaned. I could go on and on about this place as it gave me one of the absolute best vacations! I would recommend this place to my friends and family!
