“We stayed for 1 night whilst in Buxton to see a show at The Opera House. Our usual hotel was fully booked so though we’d try The Old Hall. The accommodation areas are bordering on dilapidated. Characterful no longer applies. We spoke to other guests and they found the same with one even without a working shower. Major staff shortage. “Firstly, I didn’t make use of the ‘amenities’. I was visiting parents who had moved house so this was literally a place to rest my head. That being said, the restaurant staff were lovely as I arrived late when l they were finishing shift so helped me find keys and get in. The room was decent - comfortable bed, shower and separate toilet. The only gripe I had was that the toilet light was on a timer so when cleaning teeth/washing face etc light would go off after 15s or so. Would definitely...

“The room was very clean and comfortable. The bed linen in particular was immaculate Tea, instant coffee and UHT milk were provided. The staff were courteous and very helpful.”

“The downstairs is a proper pub. Very friendly, especially the dog. £5 to park my motorbike at the back in a locked area excellent value.”
