This is the very best place to stay in Bear Lake Reserve. It is well appointed, clean, and comfortable. The host is attentive to our needs coming and going, every time. Lovely from start to finish.

Hidden Gem

Wonderful condo inside a beautiful mountain resort community. It's a little off the beaten path but that makes it that much better. I wouldn't hesitate to book this property again. Exactly what we needed to beat the Florida heat.

Stunning Lake Views

We spent Thanksgiving at this condo, which combines exceptional comfort with breathtaking views. We had a wonderful time and felt right at home! Relaxing weekend in the mountains

Great place to stay for couples and young children! My wife and I and our 6-month-old stayed at the property with friends of ours and their 1-year-old. The condo has awesome views of the lake and it's just a 5 min walk down an easy trail to the Lake Club, with an indoor/outdoor restaurant, weekend coffee shop, and equipment rentals. The condo itself was very clean, driving and check-in instructions were very clear, and Darlene was very communicative leading up to and during our stay. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend for a relaxing mountain weekend!

Beautiful Property

BLR is a beautiful property, and the condo was such a cozy retreat for our mother/som trip! Just enough space for us, and the condo was so clean and had beautiful views of the lake!

Perfect in every way

Our stay was simply magical! The condo was perfectly accommodating. As soon as I walked in a sense of peace overcame me. It feels like you’re in a magical treehouse, surrounded by nature and beautiful views of the forest and lake. The organization was very impressive. They had everything we needed and more. The rooms were very spacious with nice furniture. The bedding was extremely comfortable, and I am usually very picky about that. The kitchen was well equipped with any appliance you might need. Everything was labeled, which was very helpful. We even met the upstairs neighbor who was very friendly and provided some information about the area. Communication with the host was wonderful. They provided all the information we need including directions and helpful tips. This is probably one of the best vacation rentals we have ever stayed in. The resort amenities were perfect for us. They had a beautiful pool and clubhouse with warm and friendly staff. there’s a restaurant on site which was very good and convenient. There’s even a short trail through the woods that you can take from the condo to the mountain house where the pool restaurant is. There are some nice hiking trails on site and you can even see a waterfall off in the distance from down the road.I can’t wait to come back! more.

Excellent stay at Bear Lake Reserve

This property is in the perfect spot to enjoy a family vacation. Close proximity to lake club (walking distance on a short, well marked trail) and golf / tennis. Condo has a great view and is very clean and organized. Property manager is super helpful. The club and condo provides everything you need for an amazing trip. Highly recommend!

Serene Sanctuary

This property is situated in a very convenient location - we love the easy access to the lake and the amenities. The view is very serene and we soaked in the misty mountain mornings every day before heading out for some lake fun. We adore everything about Bear Lake and will definitely be back. The hosts of this property were wonderful and clearly care about their guest satisfaction. Cozy, clean and comfortable. We'll be back!

Pure relaxation!

This property was superb! Very clean, organized and stocked. Perfectly located within a short (but intense) hike down the mountain to the Lake Club. Covered patio was perfect for those sporadic rains. Kitchen was fully stocked so it made cooking easy. This is essential since the nearest decent grocery store is at least 45 mins away. The roads getting around the area is full of intense turns and hills so recommend not coming at night! Cell service is almost nonexistent up there so prepare to be pleasantly disconnected when you are not on the wifi. Only thing we missed on this trip was a bear!

Great place to stay!

We loved staying at Fables of the Forest! It had everything we needed and more. Bear Lake Reserve is very impressive with all of their amentities and overall just a beautiful place. We were so pleased with our stay there and will be back for sure!

Hidden Gem In the Mountains of North Carolina

Unit was in great shape and well organized. Communication with property manager was outstanding. Unit overlooks lake and is a short walk to the Lake Club (we ate there several times, had coffee at the Bear & Bean coffee shop & took out kayaks). The 9 hole golf course at top of mountain had spectacular views and was in good playing condition. Overall, a fun weekend with friends at a special place.

Great Location at Bear Lake Reserve

This property was in the mountains in an extremely nice development called Bear Lake Reserve. It was secluded with beautiful landscaping and fresh air. The unit is located very close to the Lake Club and we were able to utilize all the amenities - pool, fitness center, coffee, restaurant, kayaking, paddle boards, and boat rentals. Please note that this unit is located on the lower floor and you can really hear people walking around upstairs. Overall, it is a fantastic property and we had a great time.

Quiet with a view!

We had an awesome time at Fables of the Forest. The unit is well equipped with everything you could need, very clean, and best part was enjoying the morning coffee from the deck. Partial view of lake and mountains only obstruction was trees. Will definitely stay at Fables of the Forest again!

Great Christmas

The condo was great. Perfectly decorated and so comfortable feeling. Stocked with everything you need in the kitchen, except food of course to make a great Christmas dinner. The TV was loaded with many popular web options. The club house was just down the hill, very beautiful like the whole neighborhood. We used the hot tube 3 nights during our Christmas stay. We are looking forward to going back in the summer for a new experience.
