Vatersay is almost the most Southerly island on the Outer Hebrides. It's the most southerly inhabited island though. The west beach faces out to the Atlantic gales and is surrounded by grass covered dunes. the east beach on the other side takes about 5 minutes to get to from here, you can just make out the outlines of the Isle of Skye and the Scottish mainland. https://www.undiscoveredscotland.co.uk/vatersay/vatersay/index.html

Vatersay East Beach faces the mainland of Scotland and the Isle of Skye with the small Isles to the south. Vatersay East is calmer than it's close neighbor the west side, the perfect places to catch a sunrise on one side and a sunset on the other, Vatersay is now connected by a causeway to the larger Island of Barra to the north. https://www.undiscoveredscotland.co.uk/vatersay/vatersay/index.html
