Park in the driveway, with room for a boat and trailer; street parking is also available. A car is useful for downtown Lake Geneva, Grand Geneva and Alpine Valley. Milwaukee's General Mitchell airport (MKE) is about a 48-minute drive, and ride-sharing is available locally.
AREA
Walk the Geneva Lake Shore Path from Williams Bay, or the library, coffee shop and restaurants in the village. Yerkes Observatory is about a 1-mile walk, and Pier 290, Cafe Calamari and Harpoon Willie's are a short walk or quick drive. Kishwauketoe Nature Conservancy is about 5 minutes by car for boardwalk hikes and fall color; Grand Geneva (golf, spa, skiing) about 15; Alpine Valley 25 to 30. Frosty Moose across the street is a seasonal ice cream shop, so check its hours outside summer. The home is not lakefront.
GOOD TO KNOW
• The house is on the main road through the village. Everything is walkable, but you will hear traffic, most on weekend evenings. Light sleepers may prefer a back-street home
• The stairs to the second floor are steep with low headroom. Tall guests need to duck, and they may not suit anyone unsteady on stairs
• The fireplace mantel in the sitting area is decorative and cannot be used
• One exterior camera: a Ring doorbell camera at the door. In the living room there is a noise monitor that measures decibel level only (no audio recorded)
• Dogs welcome with prior approval, maximum 2 dogs. A pet fee applies. Tell us about your dogs before booking
• No smoking inside. Quiet hours 10:00 PM to 8:00 AM. The booking guest must be 25 or older
• Check-in 4:00 PM, check-out 10:00 AM
• After booking we send an electronic rental agreement to sign before check-in details go out, and a Guest Portal link to complete before check-in. During booking you choose either a damage waiver or a refundable security deposit authorization
