City Club Suite - #54 Henry Miller

  • Our guests say this is a hidden gem in historic downtown Wilmington! This one-bedroom suite features a private bath, kitchen, and temporary membership to Wilmington's exclusive City Club. Enjoy a comfortable living room complete with desk, sofa and Roku TV. Sleep in the luxury king-sized bed and relax in the large jacuzzi tub or stand-up shower.
    Please note that the fireplaces are not functional, as they are many years old and just not safe. We hope to have them back for winter 2025. Also, we no longer provide parking with the stay. There are numerous paid and free parking spaces in the downtown area.
    The Inn at City Club is within walking distance of many other fine and casual dining restaurants, coffee shops, nightclubs, and local theaters.

Our room was so comfortable, beautifully decorated, and spacious. The staff onsite were all very friendly, welcoming, and accommodating throughout our stay. We would love to stay there again the next time we are in Wilmington!

Quaint old southern charm

Lovely old house. Perfect for our long weekend in Wilmington. Walking distance to everything in town but far enough away from the outdoor bands that it wasn’t overwhelming at night. Most comfortable bed! Tom was response and accommodating when we communicated about things. Definitely will stay here again when we visit.

Beyond expectations

Had seamless check into a beautiful second story townhouse which felt brand new. The cleanliness. The aroma. the comfort. The small details made unforgettable vacation. We will always stay here in future.

We noticed the hallways and room were not particularly clean. In addition, there is a nail sticking up near the bed in front of the fire place to the left. I luckily found it and put a piece of paper over it so we didn't have an accident. Not sure the opening in the bathroom really does much for the room. When you have to use the toilet, there is no privacy. On the kitchen area, if someone is staying for a particular time, it would be nice to have the kitchen stocked for at least that amount of time. We had two people in the room. Unfortunately, people today have higher standards after staying in hotels and other VRBOs. I enjoyed my stay as I have connections way back to the ClubCorp days, but my wife was not impressed. Would hope to stay again on our next trip, but would have to have a discussion on these things. It would be nice to let us know in advance of the relationship with our room and the restaurant downstairs so we could go ask for what we needed.

Beautiful room in a historical house with an upscale restaurant downstairs that serves dinner most of the week. It’s located walking distance to everything you want to see in downtown Wilmington.

Amazing! Like traveling back in time (in a good way!)

This room at the City Club was everything I could have hoped for and more for a quick getaway in downtown Wilmington. Walking up, the tiered garden and impressive "house" really set the tone for the stay. When we got to the room there were fresh, local biscuits and treats waiting for us which was really nice. They were delicious and we would have visited the bakery if we had more time. The room had all of the old world charm but with every modern convenience you could want. It was neat, clean and the bed/linens were super comfortable. The location was very convenient and we were able to easily walk to dinner and drinks, just a few blocks away. The booking process was easy, communication was quick and clear and it was simple to get into the room and access the building after-hours when we came back from dinner. Highly recommend for anyone wanting to enjoy downtown but have a large, quiet, luxurious space all to themselves!

Quintessential Historic Wilmington Experience

There is a lot of charm to this historic estate. Beautiful moulding and flooring. Lovely decor. Large jacuzzi tub. The rooms are enormous, well layed out, and the owners have furnished the entire home perfectly! The location is perfect...just a short walk to downtown Wilmington! Spacious. Comfortable beds. Excellent location! Situated in the heart of Downtown Wilmington, we enjoyed sunset strolls on the river walk and dining in the club restaurant downstairs. The food was fantastic and the staff friendly. I was surprised by how quiet and private it is in the rooms despite being in the middle of town and having a restaurant and bar downstairs. Tom was an excellent host. We are looking forward to our next stay.

Historical Wilmington

I had a GREAT time at the City Club. This is downtown which means I could walk to a restaurant, comedy show and just walk around this beautiful, historical city. A great place to vacation.
