“It was quaint.”

“This is an older motel that when speaking with the lady at the desk said was just acquired by a new owner last fall. They have done a lot of work to the rooms and exterior of the building with all new everything in the rooms. It is an older place but it being brought up to modern standards and amenities. They are still in the process of getting their vintage sign restored and a few exterior upgrades but I would highly recommend. Has the potential to be one of the nicest motels in the Luray area....

“The property is ok for spending one night. It is quite noisy if all rooms are booked as the opening and closing of doors is always accompanied by electronic noise and the walls are really thin. ”

“Host was very friendly and tried to be helpful. However, the toilet was in need of repair and properly secured to the floor. We were kept awake most of the night the second night we were there with some sort of bird practicing his mating call… very loud and constant loud squawking. There is not a lot of room and no table to eat on if it is cold as the only table is outside on the screened in porch. “The cottage was a little further from town than we anticipated, but we spent most of our time in the park and the caverns; so, it suited us well. The property manager, Ruth, checked on us each day to make sure we had everything we needed. The only little glitch was with the clothes washer when trying to wash with cold water. It turned out the hot and cold selections on the washer were reversed, and we found a work around so everything ended well. The area was very quiet and pleasant to enjoy in...

“We had a great stay at the Hillside Hideaway, we came to the area to hike and fish at Shenandoah. ”

“We were recommended the town of Luray for our Shenandoah trip and found this little hidden gem of a house on VRBO. The location is great, close to town and very easy trip out to the national park. Everything was clean and looked new! Size of the house was great and for all our needs. We spent a lot of time on the back porch and used the fire pit! Would stay again if we are in the area in the future!”
