“They had severe weather the week before we arrived, and the shoreline access was closed off due to shore erosion. I was unaware of this when booking, but we dealt with it. We learned a lot about California Properties that are built on Sand Dunes, and how quickly the shoreline could erode. Castroville ended up being a good choice for us because we were able to get to Monterey easily, enjoy the activities around Moss Landing, and go fruit picking up in Watsonville. I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a location that gives you access to a large part of the bay.”

“We went to Monterey from here, about a 25 minute drive. The house has comfortable beds and a great soaking tub in the master bath. 2 living rooms, so people can do as they want. There is a weber grill out back to BBQ (bring briquettes). Do note, it is a steep driveway. But very secluded, you can see roof tops, but not windows of any neighbors. Owner was great at communication, and worked with us on any needs!”

“We spent two nights here as a family while visiting the area in March of 2025. The house is in a quiet neighborhood, close to a grocery store and restaurants. Easy drive to Monterey or other nearby areas in the Salinas valley. Although the house itself is small (a “casita” after all) the 3 bedrooms are surprisingly large and even have closets (plus one has a half bath). The backyard is enchanting and relaxing. Grace is an excellent and thoughtful host and everything was in order when we arrived....

“We loved the house. The setup was perfect for our family and everything was very clean. The area was nice and quiet and the flowers and plants growing around the property were well cared for. My only complaint is that the master bathroom had a very strong cigarette smell and nothing seemed to mask the smell. ”
