“I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this small apartment conveniently located in downtown Downieville. Great views of the town below and surrounding mountains. The lodging was very clean and comfortable with a quiet atmosphere conducive to relaxation. As previous reviewers have mentioned the driveway up to the house is very steep so make sure you have decent tires and put your car in low gear before heading up the road! I would be happy to stay here again next time I make it to Downieville.”

“Overall, excellent. We stayed 2 nights in winter. Roads were clear. A few other homes in sight but strong sense of privacy. Heating and cooking were good. Good tmobile data reception. Didnt try streaming. TV with DVD player and HDMI input. Driveway is between Bonnynook Rd intersection and american flag. Home is very clean and well equipped for your stay. Hosts are very accommodating and friendly. Top rating.”

“This isn’t your typical hotel experience. The lodge is centered around communal spaces where guests can connect, meet new people, and spend time with other families and kids. Unfortunately, we visited during a severe snowstorm, so we weren’t able to ski and had to leave a day early to avoid getting stranded. Despite that, the lodge has a beautiful Western look and feel that adds to its charm. If you’re open to a simple but solid stay with a strong sense of community, you’ll likely enjoy it.”
