“We loved this place so much-it was perfect for tucking in and recovering fr jet lag, with some adventures on the side. It’s a ways fr Hilo and traffic (at least when we were driving) was a lot, but once we got food we loved using it as an outpost. The 5-6 mile round trip hike to shipman’s beach is long, but the payoff is incredible. The trailhead is just a minute drive from the house. Paradise Cliffs is also a beautiful overlook just a 20 minute walk down beach road. So much good stuff so...

“Great stay, we enjoyed it. Stayed here for the last 2 nights of our Hawaii trip, and it worked out well. Beautiful sunset view. Road leading to house is a little steep and rough, but no big deal, host provided detailed directions complete with pictures that really helped us. If you are scared of dogs, be aware there is a dog that "greets" you with an intimidating bark, but he is actually quite a sweetheart and we love dogs so wasn't a problem, just a surprise.
