“My husband and I and two friends from the States recently spent three wonderful nights at The Old Church on the Isle of Skye. The beautiful old church has been thoughtfully and beautifully restored and renovated into two 3 bedroom units with ample amenities. “The cottage is very quaint. There was a little confusion over laundry facilities as the description said there was a dryer but in actuality there wasn’t. However the owner quickly responded when we messaged her. The farmer next door is a delight to chat with. He’s a lifelong resident and he shared a lot of stories about growing up there. It was also fun walking down to the water and finding treasures down at the shore. ”

“Wonderful setting, beautiful views. Not near grocery so come well stocked. Lovely coffee yurt a couple miles down the road. The house was as-advertised and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Only hiccup was that we never received check-in instructions or an access code despite leaving emails and a voicemail 2 days in advance…so we drove 4 hours to a locked house on a weekend. Thankfully someone picked up when we called from the house and gave us the access code. I’m sure this was not a typical...

The info and photos online are dated and because that set expectations, our initial impression was disappointing - which planted a seed of doubt. Thankfully, the TV, mattresses and towels were all fine. Our stay would have also been enhanced by any kind of general info letter. "Access is a bit difficult and the no noise rule after 10pm was not imposed so it took a while to go to sleep. Nevertheless installations are good and clean and the location is simply perfect to wake up and go in a hiking"
