“We checked in to this beautiful old inn, and were greeted by owner Johnathan, we were shown to our room and told if we needed anything just ask. Being the winter the kitchen is closed Monday and Tuesday which Johnathan apologised for, we replied it’s absoulutly fine. “We spent a night at the Wheatsheaf, to break the long drive from Scotland to Berkshire. Our room, although not huge, was clean, with crisp, white bed linen on a very comfy bed, and with lovely views of the pretty village church. “Stayed 2 nights. All of the staff were really friendly and helpful. Ate there 2 nights and food was great. Free on site parking, lovely lounge to sit in, games room and small pool. Would love to stay here again.”

“Loved the position of the hotel, quiet and very well run. Well maintaned and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent, very good choice and service. We thought the meal in the Brasserie was a bit overpriced, and not the best choice. We had a lovely trip on the Lake upto Bowness and Ambleside and had our main meals there. “A great value for money hotel, room was clean and comfortable, the whole building is really warm, so be prepared,! The showers are far to hot for me, but my friend loves them, so its a personal thing, but they dont really go any cooler than Moulton Lava!
