“This is a fine old achool hotel, with large clean rooms, and a friendly staff. The reception rooms and bar are nice, but while we were, were totally overrun by a wedding party. The restaurant is okay. It is adjacent tobthe reception and the dinner is acceptable, but certainly not remarkable. Everything was a little overdone. “One of the few hotels in central Ambleside with lots of facilities which was a bonus. Although the sauna and steam room were a little chilly! Areas of the hotel were being upgraded with others still to do - bathrooms and main dining area.”
